What customers say

A lovely, well-kept site with plenty of space. Staff are friendly, food's great, and facilities are spotless. Fresh bread a bonus! Minor gripes about WiFi and pitches, but it's a top spot for a break or a stopover.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Location.
Nice pitches
Plentiful facilities
Very friendly staff.

Disliked Be careful if you pay a deposit via Pitchup, as the entry system charges you the full amount. You just need to raise it with the staff and get a refund.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Stayed one night on way back to France, perfect pitch size, check in was easy and chap was very nice. Offers good food at restaurant, small park and trampoline. Perfect layover

Disliked If you want a lay in this isn’t the place, everyone was leaving very early as seemed the perfect place as a stopover. WiFi isn’t the greatest

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Very friendly campsite in a lovely spot. A very warm welcome both upon arrival and when eating at the campsite restaurant. Generous pitch sizes. Very quiet site and surrounding areas. On site restaurant serving tasty local food/beer/wine.

Disliked There are two shower blocks - one is really lovely and modern, the other not so much. Only two toilets available in the ladies area (one of which was in the disabled shower room). All areas were clea .

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked We stayed at Camping Hautoreille as a stop over on the way down to the Alps and loved it so much that we opted to stay on the way back to north too!

A beautifully located, quite site with flat pitches and very friendly staff. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The onsite restaurant was a brilliant option after a long journey and we ordered bread for the morning.

Local attractions

Get ready to sail, swim, canoe, hike or horse ride off all that wine et cheese, at the many outdoor options available locally in the region's four lakes. The closest to the site is Charmes three kilometres away, where you can hire canoes and pedaloes, have a dip, or decide not to be active at all actually, and contemplate the waters from the end of a fishing rod. More swimming, along with waterskiing, wakeboarding and sailing, can be plunged into at Lac de la Liez five kilometres away, the biggest in the region (and again, if you don't want to be active at all thanks, there's fishing for pike and carp, lazy lakeside walks and a sandy beach all to hand here too). The lake at Vingeanne, 20 kilometres away, is a famed birdwatching spot, and Mouche along with Liez and Vingeanne has a hiking route around its scenic shores. Townwise, the fortified hillside settlement of Langres, seven kilometres away, is a popular stopoff in the area, for its cathedral, Navarre Tower and several other ancient sights. You should also walk the town ramparts, three and a half kilometres' worth including seven fortified towers and seven gateways (some sections of the ramparts are over 2,000 years old). Within 20 killometres, more history is at the Château du Pailly, said to be the best example of Renaissance architecture in the Champagne-Ardenne, and at the Faverolles Gallo-Roman mausoleum, built in 20BC… even the kids should like this one. There's also horse riding and a treetop adventure park within 15 kilometres, or you could stick around Langres and enthusiastically sample the town's AOC cheese: best to hike around the ramparts afterwards to burn it all off.
