  • Well-maintained, small and family-run rural site in central Brittany
  • Surrounded by quiet roads and paths for walking and cycling
  • Swimming pool, clean amenities and bread delivery service
The friendly team at this small and rural site sure do keep things shipshape: you're likely to see them out and about maintaining pitches, amenities or the swimming pool pretty often during your stay. Not that you're likely to be on site all that much… Camping Keronnes, between Guémené-sur-Scorff and Ploërdut in Morbihan, is set in an area of quiet and mainly undeveloped countryside, with scenic walks among peaceful roads, small villages and historic buildings. The beaches around Lorient are less than an hour's drive away, or you can head to Lac de Guerlédan within 35 minutes for watersports and lakeside walks. For times when you are around on site, the small pool will keep you cool. And then – a barbecue? Sort your supplies in Guémené-sur-Scorff two and a half kilometres away, or in Ploerdut within six; for brekkie, fresh bread is delivered daily straight to the site. On-site amenities include a launderette, washing-up area and modern amenities blocks with showers and toilets, all kept nicely clean by the Camping Keronnes family team.

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Ample space per camping site. Quiet and open atmosphere, plus attentive and warmly welcoming host also offering useful suggestions for interesting places and events to visit.

Disliked Facilities are clean and well kept. They're in a process of being expanded, which certainly will benefit visitors at nights when the camping is fully booked.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked A fantastic place! We were there for a week and felt so comfortable. Each camper has a large pitch. These are separated from each other by tall grass.

Everywhere on the square you will find loving details and small decorations, as well as fresh flowers in the public spaces. The sanitary facilities are modern and incredibly clean. It feels like home. Even when all pitches were occupied, it was wonderfully quiet. Wendy and Mark have created something great there and we are looking forward to the planned expansions.

We were impressed by the attention of the owners. There is a refrigerator for free use, on the hot days Mark has prepared ice cubes for the guests as a precaution.

The small pool was cleaned every day, was very well maintained and provided a successful cooling on hot days.

There is a fenced dog run area on which there are a few fruit trees. While our dog was walking around there, we were allowed to pick delicious plums there (after consultation with Mark).

Disliked Nothing to dislike!!!

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Very cute little campsite. It has exactly what one (I in this case) needs from a camping site. A spacious place, a wooden table to sit at / cook at. A almond tree above it, for shade and soul nurturing. A very clean and comfortable sanitary facility. A fridge and a sink. O, and a tiny swimming pool for cooling down too. And beyond that very friendly and warmhearted owners, and a cute camping cat that comes for a daily visit/play. Need I say more? Recommended!

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely campsite, booked last minute before heading for the ferry. Good clean facilities, quite site, with big pitches seperated by wild/unmown grass borders which is really nice. Friendly owners.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked This is exactly the kind of campsite that my wife and I love - a real gem!

Large well maintained pitches with two electric sockets, a very useful wooden picnic table which was shaded by a lovely walnut tree (Pitch 2). A beautifully kept camping field with enough space between the pitches to feel secluded but close enough to chat to other campers if you so desire. There is an above ground pool which was most welcome during our stay as the temperatures were over 32C. The facilities are well maintained and are being extended to provide more toilets and showers.

The owners, Wendy and Mark, are lovely people and go out of their way to make sure that you enjoy your camping experience which we really did. Close to the town, which is in walking distance (probably about 15 minutes], but we had our bikes so it took less than five minutes. The local town has a few restaurants and bars, plus a good boulangerie and a small well stocked supermarket.

All in all a beautiful campsite, so if you are passing by then don’t hesitate in stopping!

Disliked Our only problem is finding another campsite on our trip that will match the standards of this one!

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Un super petit camping familial. Une salle de bain neuve comme à la maison. Toilettes pareil. Personnalisé. Ils sont aux petits soins pour les clients.
Des emplacements énormes espaces avec de la verdure et des arbres autour. Super propre. Dans une belle campagne.
Je recommande.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Never have we been somewhere with such kind and welcoming hosts. Nothing was too much trouble! Sparkly clean and modern toilet and shower (no stupid push buttons, loo roll and hand wash provided, plenty of hot water, lots of hooks and a hairdryer in the shower cubicle). Spacious pitches, games for the kids, peaceful and tranquil. Nice and flat :-) Lovely wildflower meadows. Cant wait to come back. Thanks Wendy & Mark for a fab few days xx

Disliked Can’t think of a single thing to improve!

Local attractions

Those setting off to Guémené-sur-Scorff for barbecue supplies should be chuffed to hear that the commune's famed for its andouille Guémené, the smoked sausage produced using the same recipe since 1931. Guémené's also home to one of the oldest taverns in Brittany, Les Trois Marchands which has been serving drinkers since the 1720s; walk off both sausage and beer with a look around the town's old and handsome buildings. More old buildings are at the fine old 19th-century village of Forges des Salles, 25 minutes' drive away, a former steelworking village where the furnace, school, stables and manager's house are preserved as they were when the village was one of the biggest woodfired forges in Brittany; nothing's been changed since production stopped in 1877. Also mosey along to Abbaye de Bon-Repos (30 minutes' drive), abbey ruins that are now home to contemporary art exhibitions. If you're here to hike (handy if you've over-sampled the local andouille), around 400 kilometres of walking and cycling trails await around the Vallée du Scorff in the countryside surrounding Camping Keronnes: take a guided hike in summer, follow one of the marked trails, or follow the Sentier des Sources trail all the way to the Atlantic.
