Only 300 metres from the Mousterlin coast and near the old and highly comely Cornouaille city of Quimper: have a fab Finistère time at Camping Penhoat Coté Plage. This is a splendid site for group bookings, whether for family reunions or just getting away with mates, and all sorts of activities are available very near by to suit all sorts of holiday tastes: excursions to the local hiking trails as well as horse riding, cycling and fishing by shore or boat are all organised by the site staff. Bike and kayak hire are available too. Had a hard day hiking, pedalling or paddling around the area? Head back to the site for a soothing beauty treatment and then stroll leisurely over to the Camping Penhoat Coté Plage restaurant for evening meals of seafood platters and local produce (and cocktails), along with live evening entertainment.

Liked: This campsite turned out to be a real surprise. When we arrived at midday, it was noisy (children in the play area behind our pitch and a pool/aqua slides in the campsite next door. I wondered whether we might only stay one night; fortunately, that didn’t happen. Everything quietened down by about 10pm. We were in a pitch close to reception - if you were further away it would have been quieter. There were lots of things to recommend this site: - close to some lovely beaches - lots of cycle paths (and all very flat) - small shop to reserve deliciously warm croissants for breakfast (they were also happy to freeze our ice packs - at a small charge) - a bar that opened at 5pm that also served pizzas on certain days - great washing facilities (toilets and showers are unisex, not that that made any difference) - very helpful staff

Disliked: As mentioned above, this is next door to a campsite with a pool and water slides, so expect to hear lots of excited screams during the day - not a problem if you’re off site doing other things.

Disliked: Nettoyage trop bruyant le matin à 8h. Restauration seulement à emporter . Trop d'ardoises autour du "bar", on ne si retrouve pas. Animations nulles. Accueil léger.

Liked: Lovely quiet friendly clean campsite. Good shop, cafe/bar and evening entertainment a couple of times a week. Situated near some absolutely lush beaches that were fairly quiet and without masses of consumer outlets. We plan to return!

Local attractions

Some of Finistère's and Brittany's top attractions are within easy reach of Camping Penhoat Coté Plage, like the spectacular Glénan Islands about 15 kilometres off the coast, and the thermal baths and thalassotherapy centres of small town Bénodet. Kitesurfing, swimming and sailing are all accessible at the nearest beach, a 300-metre amble away. One of Brittany's most-visited attractions is Quimper, about half an hour's drive away and the capital of the historic region of Cornouaille (yes, this is cider land). Strolling through its medieval streets and among its old buildings should be the first items on a day trip agenda; recommended stops after that include a look at the Cathedral of Saint Corentin and its surrounding areas, and a visit to one of the many workshops open to visitors and specialising in the city's traditional earthenware. Also about half an hour away, Concarneau is a fortified town surrounded by medieval bulwarks and full of cobbled streets: highlights here include the fishing museum and the fishing and yacht harbour.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

Hired accommodation

Hired accommodation: €250.00 damage/cleanliness/bracelet deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure after inspection of your unit should no damage/losses be found.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.

Only one car is to be parked by the pitch. Extra vehicles must be parked in the designated area.
