From this handy spot you’ll be able to walk to the centre of town in about 10 minutes for a small supermarket, a bakery and other amenities, or to board bus services to other nearby villages. There’s also a lovely cycle path about 500 metres from the site for those who’d like to tour the area on two wheels. There’s clearly a lot to see and do around here, so it’s good to know you’ll have a nice chilled-out place to stay, with flat pitches that are shaded by trees and where you’ll be allowed to set up things like barbecues, gazebos and pup tents to get the place just as you want it.

Local attractions
Exploring this area can take several forms – you might like to take bikes out on the cycle path that runs from Lièpvre to Sélestat in one direction and Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines in the other, passing through several villages along the way. The 50-mile Route des Crêtes is a fabulous drive for those who’d like to see some scenery and stop at farm inns along the way for eats, and there are plenty of places to hike close by too.
The Alsace area is dotted with wineries and vineyards to visit, and also with pretty villages and towns for a stroll and something to eat or drink. Ribeauvillé (25 minutes’ drive) and Riquewihr (half an hour) are two of the larger settlements, or you could head to Colmar (35 minutes) for a day wandering its historic streets.
For family days out, meet the animals and learn about farming through the ages at La Ferme d’Argentin (five minutes) or don hard hats for an underground tour at L’Aventure des Mines (10 minutes). The spectacular hilltop Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg (15 minutes) should be on everyone’s list too, for its royal rooms, armour collections and medieval garden.
