At Råbjerg Mile Camping, it may be hard to pry yourself away from sea and sand, but it will be worth it… Get up close with impressive birds of prey with a show at Eagle World, less than 15 minutes’ drive from Råbjerg Mile, then dive below the water’s surface at Nordsoen Oceanarium, half an hour from the site. Embrace your artistic side with a visit to the artist’s studio at Drachmanns Hus or by wandering through the galleries at Skagens Museum, then throw yourself way back in time by heading to the Skagen vippefyret, a 17th-century lighthouse with a difference. If you’re lucky enough to have the time to make a couple of day trips, an excursion to the city of Aalborg, about an hour from Råbjerg Mile, is a must. If you can only do a few things while you’re there, get some photos outside Jens Bang’s Stenhus, a renaissance mansion in the city, and meet the exotic animals at the Aalborg Zoo. Just outside the city, live the Viking life at Lindholm Høje Museum or get your adrenaline pumping on the rides at Fårup Sommerland amusement park, both around an hour from site.
