  • Eco-friendly, small-scale site in the Pembrokeshire countryside
  • A 10-minute drive from Amroth and its beach; Saundersfoot 15 minutes

Are you all about the countryside? A dyed in the wool fan of outdoor life? Then take a closer look at Green Sheep Camping, a friendly wildlife haven near the village of Amroth that's located within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and a little over a mile from the Wales Coast Path. This site is a member of the Greener Camping Club and is committed to keeping things small, eco-friendly and sustainable. There's a maximum of ten parties on site at any one time here, all of which have access to their own firepit. There's also an old dairy where you can eat out of the way of the elements if required, plus well-kept flushing toilets and warm showers. There are also quite a few animals on site, including free-range chickens, guinea fowl and friendly rare-breed Wiltshire Horn sheep. At certain times kids may have the chance to interact with some of the farm's tame permanent residents. Non-domesticated nature also thrives here: walk through the site's wildflower meadow or in its mossy oak woodland down to the stream at the bottom of the valley and you'll likely see lots of inspiring plant and animal life. There's plenty of room in the woodlands for energetic kids as well: den-building, playing on rope swings and slinging hammocks between the trees are all options that may appeal. Buzzard electric hardstanding and grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: We had a lovely few days at Green Sheep Camping. It’s a nice set up on a farm, very rustic. Theri was a great host, very friendly and welcoming with lots of local knowledge! She has a flock of sheep and a herd of guinea foul which our children loved. It’s a beautiful location if you truly want to switch off!

Non-electric grass and gravel tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: We had a lovely weekend break at Green Sheep. We had a personal welcome from Theri and the chance for our daughter to meet the sheep and feed them by hand. Our pitch had a view right down the valley and the small number of spaces meant it felt really peaceful. Car parking is separate but cleverly sited so that it is not far from most pitches and contributed to the feeling of peace. With a toddler this is great for being able to relax on the site. All facilities were spotless and we had a wonderful time.

Barn Owl electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Great location,Theresa. the owner, gives a warm welcome and is most helpful. Although we never used them there was a fridge and micro wave you could use, also a games area and a nice snug where you could sit on the evening. A little gem of a site in beautiful surroundings!

Disliked: Only a small minor point but I'd preferred the toilets and showers to be in the same location

Non-electric grass and gravel tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Theri was a brilliant host, warm and inviting. Our pitch was lovely, so well spaced in the middle of a meadow. All amenities have been well thought out, everything you could possibly need. Very family friendly - we particularly loved the sheltered barn full of games and toys (great for rainy days). Plenty of on site facilities including fridges and freezers, washing machine and drier. Communal area, toilets and all facilities well maintained and always spotless. We had the pleasure of meeting some of the farm animals on site too which made the stay even more exciting. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to booking a return stay. Thank you!

Barn Owl electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Loved the warm, friendly welcome on arrival from Theri and the great facilities on site. It wasn't over crowded and had generous spaces for visitors giving it a real feeling of a relaxed, peaceful holiday retreat. Buzzard electric hardstanding and grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Brilliant site. Very spacious pitches, hot showers and lovely hosts. Guinea fowl freely roaming the field we stayed in which was lovely and theri even let us feed the lambs on our last morning. The weather wasn't on our side the whole weekend however they had a great barn filled with games/seating as a communal area. All in all it was a great place to stay and we'll definitely be back.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay, Theri was very welcoming. The pitches are well spread out, with individual fire pits and seating areas. The barn has lots of games for the children and all the extra touches had been thought about - extra loo rolls, spaces to cook and eat in the barn for bad weather, washing and drying facilities for when you need them. The location is great, just off the main road with easy access to loads of fun things to do with the kids and the beach at Amroth is lovely for swimming.
