  • Smart self-contained camping pods at a 20-acre Carmarthenshire park
  • A mile from historic Kidwelly; 15 mins' drive to Pembrey Country Park
  • Farm shop and café on site; profits support a charitable foundation
Now here’s a place that will really gladden the heart – the stylish pods at Gwlad Glamping are in gorgeous surroundings, and a stay here will directly benefit the work of the charitable foundation that’s also run by the owners. The glampsite is part of a 20-acre rural property in Carmarthenshire that’s also home to a well-stocked farm shop, a large café, a play area and a dog adventure park. The historic town of Kidwelly, with its castle, shops, pubs and takeaways, is about a mile away. There’s also a railway station in town for those who’d like to travel on public transport. Gwlad Glamping makes a fabulous base for exploring this part of West Wales, perhaps spending days on the beach, roaming through the countryside, visiting places like the National Botanic Garden of Wales or planning family days out at the likes of Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo. In between all these days out you’ll be coming back to a cosy camping pod, each of which has its own deck area where you can sit out to soak up some of that scenery. Each pod is self contained with its own bathroom and kitchen area as well as heating, power sockets and proper beds. Bed linen and towels are provided to help you keep your packing to a minimum. And if all of that wasn’t enticing enough, it’s good to know that profits from the glampsite go towards the work of the John Burns Foundation, which sponsors reading dogs and also supports members of the community who are socially isolated or disabled.

Daisy 2 bedroom camping pod (hot tub)

Liked: Friendliness of everyone we encountered around the area, the scenery and view were amazing, it was quiet and relaxing, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome by leaving goodies for us at the cabin and pre-heating the hot tub for our arrival. The weather wasnt great on the second day but we made the most of it and explored the area and got soaked and we loved it :)

Disliked: that we couldnt stay longer

Buttercup 2 bedroom camping pod (hot tub)

Liked: The pod was really clean and came with everything we needed and more. A lovely peaceful location with great amenities close by like the farm shop and cafe and the hot tub was warmed up for us on arrival which was nice!

Disliked: Not a dislike but just a recommendation - we ended up packing a lot of things we didn't need to such as speaker, saucepans, milk, bread etc and very kindly the pod provided all of this. This wasn't clear on the advert and emails when booking. Was a nice surprise that all of this was provided but would have saved us some packing space!

Daisy 2 bedroom camping pod (hot tub)

Liked: We loved our stay in Daisy Pod at Gwlad Glamping. Facilities were great! Given plenty of wood for the hot tub.

Disliked: There are no coat hooks or towel rails big enough for the large towels. It would be a squeeze with 4 people.
