  • A warm Welsh welcome awaits..
Mynydd Mawr Camping Site is a family run site located at the furthest tip of the Llŷn Peninsula, near the village of Aberdaron, North West Wales. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, overlooking Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island), the surrounding views are delightful. From stunning sunsets and rises, panoramic views of mountains and seascapes, and dense wildlife which lend themselves to a peaceful atmosphere. The adjoining headland leads to the All Wales Coastal Path which you can walk to the village of Aberdaron, or to Porthor (Whistling Sands). There are also several small fishing coves near the site. The closest village for shops, pubs, cafés, and take aways is Aberdaron (2 miles). On-site facilities include a toilet/shower block. £1 metered showers. A washing-up area, and a freezer for your ice packs. In the washing up area we have an information board for some travel and attraction inspiration. Electrical hook-ups (please contact site directly prior to booking if requiring a hook up). There are water points scattered around the site, and a chemical disposable unit. Campfires / bbq’s are allowed but must be in a container and off the ground. Our on-site café serves breakfast, light lunches, ice creams, a tasty selection of home made cakes, and refreshments. Well behaved dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead.

Local attractions

In this area of outstanding natural beauty we are fortunate to be surrounded by some stunning beaches and mountains. Our must visits are:- Aberdaron beach, Porthor (Whistling Sands) for it’s long sandy beach, and Porth Neigwl (Hells Mouth) for it’s well-known adventurous waves. For the best of both worlds is (beach and mountain) Llanbedrog. Walk up to the Iron Man and then a dip in the sea! Abersoch with it’s bustling designer shops, cafés, pubs and bars is well worth a visit, only a 20 minute drive away. Porthdinllaen, the home of the 3rd best pub in the world, is only a 20 minute drive away. A pint on the beach, what else could one ask for?
