Liked: What a gem of a campsite, great pitches and easy walking distance to the beautiful Lake Bala. From arriving at Reception the staff are very friendly, the shower block is amazing and the separate basins etc are a great touch (if you are weird like me and can’t watch people brushing their teeth!) overall we loved it and will be back again

Disliked: I think the campsite has a chilled relaxed vibe but is lacking either a restaurant/cafe or even a pizza van or small bar onsite- it’s not a huge necessity but would be nice to stay onsite rather than walking to town for a cold pint

Occasionally we have a pizza van on site ( all dates and details are on the website, Instagram ) and we also have a small trailer selling tea/ coffee/ cakes etc on certain dates again you would have to check. We decided very early on that a bar on site would be a bad idea as on occasions we have some customers who don't know when to stop!!! We look forward to seeing you here again in the near future. Liked: Beautiful campsite, clean and quiet. Great facilities. Friendly staff.

Disliked: Our pitch was on a slope. Not good with little ones, things became very muddy and slippy.

Liked: Very clean, well maintained, easy check in. Quiet, respectful families, couples and groups in the community that stayed. Picturesque views, homely vibe and close to Town centre

Disliked: 1. Bathroom attendant was very rude to people, we appreciate she’s doing a great job in keeping the facility clean. But we didn’t expect the reception of attitude from her towards paying guests. Not all visitors are as she clearly perceives 2. Venue is not attached to the lake, though this did not matter to us. It could be a sticking point to others if not advised clearly during point of sale. 3. Might have been us but couldn’t connect to WiFi

Local attractions

For those days where you can’t be bothered to walk too far, it’s very handy that the station for the narrow-gauge Bala Lake Railway is just five minutes’ walk away. Views of the water are a given, but count the mountains too: Arenig Fawr, Aran Fawddwy and Aran Benllyn are visible on the route. You may have your sights set on climbing Wales’ tallest mountain, perhaps. If you’re not climbing up Snowdon (an hour's drive) yourself, you might want to take the Snowdon Mountain Railway (an hour and five minutes), which has been making its ascent for over 100 years. A less strenuous trail than the Snowdon climb is the Mawddach Trail, which runs for just under 10 miles from Dolgellau (half an hour), crossing over the gorgeous Barmouth railway bridge on the other end. Coed y Brenin Forest Park (35 minutes) has plenty of trails too, through thick forest this time. You can take them on by mountain bike, standard bicycle or on foot – and there’s bike hire at the forest park.

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
At least one of the party members must be aged 21 or over.

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
