  • Adults-only North Wales farm site close to Snowdonia and the coast
  • Conwy, Llandudno and Adventure Parc Snowdonia 20 minutes' drive away
  • Award-winning pub five minutes' walk away
It’s a thoroughly grown-up setup at Ty Ni, a peaceful park on a Conwy county farm about 15 minutes’ drive from Colwyn Bay. This is an adults-only park that’s all about creating a quiet space for taking in the gorgeous views over the hills of North Wales (and the presence of an award-winning pub about five minutes’ walk away is a real bonus too…) This location, a short hop from both the coast and Snowdonia National Park, makes Ty Ni an excellent base for a varied break taking in all the attractions this area has to offer. Whether you’re into gardens, castles, gentle walks, adrenaline adventures or seaside days, it’s all here within easy reach… However you choose to fill your days you’ll be coming back to a well-kept site that’s not been overly developed but has all the essentials on hand, including washing-up sinks, a washing machine, ladies’ and gents’ toilets and showers, plus chemical waste/grey water facilities for tourers. You’ll spot a few eco-friendly touches too, like facilities for recycling and composting waste. Barbecues are permitted at this park if you’d like to spend an evening cooking outdoors while taking in the lovely rural views – there is a small shop on site and the option of several local village shops for additional supplies or bigger supermarkets in places like Colwyn Bay and Llandudno. As well as the excellent pub down the road there are also several more pubs and restaurants close by that are worth checking out.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Absolutely everything. The text from Carolyn before we arrived telling us which pitch and about the honesty shop. The view was lovely, the noise was none existent which is great, the location is great, the showers were fab. The honesty shop is such a good idea and we got some essentials. Plenty of space at the pitch. Brilliant that there’s not an extra charge for an awning as some places do. Electrics were excellent. Very well set out. Reasonably priced. Overall a very nice stay, would definitely come again and definitely recommend.

Disliked: Nothing

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: A fantastic site. Had such a warm welcome when we arrived and Carolyn was always happy for a chat anytime we saw her and offer advice and any tips for days out. Had a lovely pitch with stunning views. The shop onsite is such a lovely addition and was great for a cheeky late night ice cream! The site had no WiFi but this was made clear when we booked and we found it no issue as we had excellent phone reception at all times (on EE). Don’t judge a book by its cover, yes the facilities aren’t the Savoy but it’s a camp site at the end of the day. They were always kept clean and as one lady said previously, they were the best showers we’ve ever had on a camp site, water pressure was better than at home :) Ty Ni is in a great location and we explored most of North Wales with ease. Would definitely go back and very happy to recommend this site!

Disliked: Nothing. However, the site is quite open so exposed to all weathers but as experienced campers we were prepared for when one night it went very windy… just take extra pegs :)

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Outstanding location super peaceful. The owner was lovely and came up to check we were happy. There is no reception/check in, which i liked because it gives a very relaxed feel to the place from the start. Little honesty shop is great Showers are the best I have had at a campsite. You get your own little manicured lawn with your electric and water. Horses, sheep ,cows and chickens to see! Pub 10 mins down the road And the price is super reasonable compared to surrounding sites Can't really ask for more!!

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Well this was a lovely quiet site. It was a fab stay on a working farm. Great watching the ponies playing in the field. Plus the free range chickens greeting me in the morning around my caravan. Lovely views whilst sat in my caravan. Fantastic hot showers which was a luxury after a busy day hiking in the National Park. The shop on the site was well stocked. The owner was lovely and super sweet. Had many chats were her and she was always happy to give advice about the local area. Would definitely recommend a stay here if visiting north Wales.

Route directions

If you are towing or driving a large motorhome, following the postcode LL22 8BE can take you down some very narrow lanes. At Abergele, turn onto the A547 first and then onto the A548. The Satnav will tell you to turn right all the time but these are narrow roads good only for campervans and smaller vehicles. If yours is longer and wider, keep to the A548 until you reach the B5113 to Colwyn Bay on the right. Carry on along the B5113 – the turning for the site is on the right just past the Holland Arms pub car park, there are signs, and the site is 250 yards on the left down the road. Please take care that you do not enter Pen y Bryn cottages by mistake.

Local attractions

There are so many great places to get out for a walk around here, it might be tricky to know where to start. Among the top choices are the pretty village of Llanrwst (15 minutes’ drive) for a stroll to see its famous three-arched bridge, or Capel Curig (half an hour), which is a well-known hub of walking trails. For gentler strolls, plan trips to the likes of 80-acre Bodnant Garden (10 minutes), filled with formal gardens, meadows and champion trees, or check out the castles in Conwy (20 minutes) and Caernarfon (45 minutes). The colourful Italianate village of Portmeirion (55 minutes) is a popular day-trip destination, as is the seaside town of Llandudno (20 minutes) for a walk on the pier and perhaps a tour of the Penderyn distillery followed by a sip of their whisky. Up for a bit more action? Hit the waves of Adventure Parc Snowdonia (20 minutes) for the unusual experience of inland surfing or sign up for one of the adrenaline rushes at Zip World Fforest (20 minutes) – perhaps a ride on the forest coaster or a go on Europe’s highest swing?
