  • Family tourer site five minutes’ drive from the M8 in Renfrewshire
  • Half an hours’ drive to central Glasgow; 25 minutes to Loch Lomond
  • Award-winning restaurant and cocktail bar; horse riding
With horse riding available and an award-winning restaurant and bar to boot, you’ll never be short of something to do at family-friendly The Paddocks Touring Park in Renfrewshire. Easily accessed from the main M8 motorway, this is a handy overnighting spot on the way to the scenic west coast of Scotland, or if you’re keen to spend a few days exploring the local area, central Glasgow is half an hour’s drive. Hardstanding pitches have stunning views over hilly countryside around Bishopton, and each comes with a 32-amp electric hook-up, a water supply and waste drainage. If you are self-catering, you’ll find most of what you need at the small supermarket in Bishopton (five minutes’ drive). Alternatively, Palomino’s bar (stay over on a Saturday night for live music) and restaurant is open from breakfast to dinner, and there’s a food and drinks delivery service available between 12pm and 8pm. Most flowers, vegetables and herbs used in the restaurant are grown on site in polytunnels, and honey is produced in the beehives – guests are welcome to purchase some to take home. The practicalities: convenient facilities include modern showers, a laundry (additional cost), washing-up sinks and electric vehicle charging points. With 24-hour security, you’ll know that all your stuff is safe and sound on site. Two dogs are welcome per pitch, but please ensure they remain on the lead at the pitches. For horse riding, book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Very posh site, which was very well laid out and had all amenities; toilets, showers, grey waste, black waste and launderette and bins. Within walking distance to shops and takeaways passing horses in fields on the way. Lovely walks for dogs. Peaceful

Disliked: Onsite work traffic travelling too fast around the site. Dogs not on leads most of the time.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Clean tidy site. Benches and flower tubs are a nice touch. Used levels on pitch. Everything there that you need. Toilets and showers very clean. Friendly staff. Liked seeing the horses. Conveniently located for us.

Disliked: Not very impressed with the shower facilities. Three showers open onto a small communal dressing/changing area. Very difficult for older folk, kids (safeguarding issues) and disabled. Can't imagine 3 people in there at once! Personally I wouldn't use if someone was in there already. Also the lights are on motion sensor, which is away from the showers, so you could be plunged into darkness (at night) if nobody comes in and activates it. Accident waiting to happen. I wonder if the owner/manager had tried them out?

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Lay out of pitches - plenty of space and own picnic table. Immaculate facilities - very modern and clean, plus toiletries provided.

Disliked: Car driving around the site seemingly to turn around from the stables. Not having individual cubicles or privacy in the showers. No where within walking distance No check in or contact with staff No WiFi
