Non-electric grass tent pitch (small, four person)

Liked: I was driving with a medium to large tent and this site caters more for walkers with small tents. Nevertheless my stay was comfortable and all the facilities are under the cover of a large barn. It's a half hour walk into Drymen for the shops and pubs.

Kocoon camping pod (twin, two person)

Liked: The toilets and showers were warm and clean. Host was helpful.

Disliked: The pod was very very small with tiny narrow uncomfortable beds and no power. I paid extra for bedding and towels I did not think it was good value for money as I've stayed elsewhere much better for the same or less money

Non-electric grass tent pitch (small, four person)

Liked: This place has really kind and helpful staff who showed us the whole place and kindly answeard all our questions. We liked the organization of tent spots and that the place for tents were flat so we could sleep well. We appreciated clean toilets and showers.

Disliked: We missed hot place/room to dry our staff.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (small, four person)

Liked: Fab site, right on the west highland way route, which is what I'm doing. It looked like most other people were on the walk too. The site was clean, quiet and had great facilities. It was just a one nighter, but good place to rest my head, and feet.

Green camping pod (double, two person)

Liked: Absolutely great campsite for a stop over. We were staying in a pod which was ideal for us. The location near to Drymen was fantastic and the site manager was really friendly and helpful. The Crachan pub was a great recommendation and served lovely food.

Local attractions

The lovely Loch Lomond has a mightily tempting set of places to visit, whether it’s Balloch’s (15 minutes’ drive), country park, bird of prey centre and Maid of the Loch steamer boat or the ultra-scenic Conic Hill (20 minutes) and Ben Lomond (20 minutes). Where else to go walking? Perhaps Queen's View & The Whangie (20 minutes) for views of Loch Lomond, the village of Killearn (20 minutes), or the conifers of Garadhban Forest (15 minutes)? The Devil’s Pulpit (55 minutes’ walk or 20 minutes’ drive), which featured in Outlander, is a gorgeous wild swimming spot with a 100-foot-deep sandstone gorge, river and a stretch to tackle named Devil’s Steps. After braving the slippery tracks, it might be time to indulge in a little Scottish whisky. Founded in 1833, the Glengoyne Distillery (20 minutes’ drive) runs sampling experiences.
