  • Peaceful Perthshire pitches with direct access to the River Tay
  • A 15-minute drive to Pitlochry; 25 minutes to Tay Forest Park
  • Easy access via main roads; pub and shop a short walk away
Calling all those in search of outdoor adventures… Grandtully Station Campsite is in a fabulous Perthshire location with direct access to the River Tay and a wealth of adrenaline-filled activities in the surrounding area. Activity providers nearby have a great selection of options including gorge walking, canyoning, abseiling, rafting and mountain biking. Meanwhile, for calmer days out, you can take to the trails of Tay Forest Park, potter around pretty Pitlochry or sip samples at several local whisky distilleries… Back on site, you'll be staying on simple but well-kept pitches, where families, groups and dogs are all welcome. You'll have access to toilets and showers (described by one former guest as ‘impeccably clean’, and with accessible facilities) and wifi on site. There are also some handy facilities within walking distance, including a riverside pub, a convenience store and a fancy chocolate shop. Barbecues are permitted on site, so bring yours along and get set for an alfresco meal (the butcher in Pitlochry is a favourite for grill meats). Access to the site is easy from the A827, which links up to the A9 about six miles away for longer journeys.

What customers say

Lovely, tidy site with great, modern facilities and friendly staff. Peaceful spot, well-spaced pitches, trolleys provided. Some found mixed-gender loos and parking off-pitch a bit of a bother, but it's a grand base for exploring with pubs and shops nearby.

Non-electric gravel campervan pitch (no awning, small, maximum 6 metres)

Liked Close to facilities, facilities were clean and warm. Clean clear camp site. Very useful for the water sports in the local area. Camping area is secured with a locked gate, facilities are also locked for campers only.

Disliked Non electric pitches are just pull up to the side of the grass bank, no clear pitch area, all quite close together, it's a bit like a glorified carpark.

Electric grass tent pitch (small)

Liked Facilities immaculate.
Allocated pitch saves confusion
Smallest site I’ve been on friendly staff

Enjoyed the site however unfortunately was next to 4 noisy women who didn’t adhere to time rules like everyone else including many children trying to sleep through foul language in every sentence til after midnight and then awoke everyone at 6 am with similar really loud laughing/speaking loudly - really loudly & swearing - noone else round about could be heard as usually you would speak in lower voice to respect other campers. In all my years camping I’ve never experienced this ….. it was that loud one voice in particular - you could hear them through ear plugs!! This was bad as they were on opposite side to our pitch and 2 tents down
I was surprised there were no wardens to monitor camp!! Spoiled the otherwise lovely campsite.

Disliked Wasn’t keen on mixed gender toilets & showers I prefer female / male split. However wouldn’t put me off going back

Not having car next to tent as usually work out boot and don’t unpack everything - small tent ended jampacked so not ideal but liked how had the” bogeys” to take gear to pitch

Non-electric grass tent pitch (medium)

Liked Nice walk from the site, shower block nice and clean. Friendly staff.

Disliked Not being able to park next to the tent, having to carry equipment up the hill (the site do have little trolleys to use). The set out of the pitches, quite uneven and close together in some parts.

Electric grass tent pitch (medium)

Liked Peaceful site, good location, friendly staff, clean facilities, modern site, amazing local butchers (McDonald Bros. Definitely worth a visit for a ribeye) great pup (black watch) not too pricey either.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (medium)

Liked Friendly reception and very clean toilet and showers as well. Very relaxing place to stay.
Great location and lots to see and do for all ages.

Disliked I honestly can't think of anything apart from maybe having somewhere to charge a phone, as I couldn't book an electric pitch and there are no plug points anywhere.

Electric grass tent pitch (medium)

Liked Camp site is well looked after. Lots of space for pitches and staff are helpful. Toilet and shower facilities looked brand new and were very well cleaned and maintained.

Disliked You’re not able to park your car directly next to your tent pitch but the site supply trailers for you to transport your gear from the car to your pitch. The trip is very short though.

Local attractions

You’ll probably end up in Pitlochry (15 minutes’ drive) sooner or later, as it’s a handy place for shops, but it’s also a nice place for a stroll to see some of its heritage and unusual sights such as the fish ladder. Just outside the town are Blair Athol Distillery, which is open for tours and tastings, and Tay Forest Park, which has lots of lovely woodland trails to follow. For more heritage outings, head to Cluny House Gardens (10 minutes) and Castle Menzies (15 minutes), or have a tour of an Iron Age dwelling at The Scottish Crannog Centre (25 minutes), often with music or craft demonstrations. Whisky is part of the national heritage too, of course – so you could also add on another distillery tour at Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery (10 minutes). There’s a whole lot of excellent scenery and wildlife to explore nearby too – a couple of the best places to check them out are at Queen's View Visitor Centre and Scottish Wildlife Trust - Loch of the Lowes Visitor Centre (both 25 minutes). Intrepid guests can also join expeditions with The Rafting Company - Perthshire, a couple of minutes' walk from the site.
