What customers say

A lovely spot with beach access and sound staff. Families enjoyed the pool and playground, but some noted cleanliness and maintenance issues with toilets and bins. Touring pitches were also a bit hit-and-miss.

Ensuite camping pod

Liked The Pod was clean and cosy , the pool was as well enjoyable and the visit was well organised to avoid that it is overcrowded. The Restaurant with its Live Performances was a good Place to be.

Disliked We arrived after 6 pm and it was Not really clear how we could retrieve the keys or check in, that was quite poor

The Camping Place overall looked a bit empty with no trees or hedges in between pods and homes.

The Connection to wlan was not working properly so we had to try it multiple times without getting a voucher code.

Liked Location

Disliked Price- more than double what other sites charge for pitches for motorhomes. Although this could be attributed to it being a holiday park and do providing more catering & entertainment facilities
Cleanliness- bins overflowing and obviously not being emptied regularly; washing up facilities not being cleaned regularly; bird faeces on sinks etc. in washing up area; washrooms adequate but again not maintained/cleaned regularly, particularly the female facilities.

Huge site with very little personality, overflowing bins in all areas.

Camping pod

Liked last minute availability, and indoor swimming pool as weather was awful!

Disliked not very comfy bed, unpleasant stains on mattress, not very clean pod inside or outside, litter surrounding pod including bagged up dog poo!
The bins had not been emptied for days, the bin corner's ground was completely covered in rubbish, including used nappies and food waste. There was a storm predicted so you know what happened to rubbish in 70mph wind. I'm not sure there was any excuse for that really. Washing up area also filthy, no hot water, no plugs for sinks so total waste of water trying to wash up.
Also, unclear where to go when reception closed to check in so that was a bit annoying.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (premium)

Liked How close it was to the beach
Staff on front desk and in pub were nice
5 a side pitch seemed like a good idea

Disliked Overflowing bins across the whole site
Touring pitches close together
Drains up hill from caravan
Pitches uneven
Toilets had holes in the wall, stall locks were dodgy, broken facilities, shower heads wouldn't stay in holders

Recommend to friends Visit again

Nice stay, need to improve the garbage collection and site monitoring.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (premium)

Liked Nice chippie. Good facilities. Beside the beach.

Disliked Was a lot of litter. There was rubbish over our pitch and all the bins were overflowing for both days and being made worse by the seagulls. Should have been more frequent emptying; quite disgusting.

Local attractions

The harbour and fishing town of Lossiemouth is a few miles from Silver Sands Holiday Park and has a good range of shops and restaurants as well as a fisheries museum, a small theatre/gig venue and the 18 holes of Moray Golf Club, regarded by those in the know as one of Scotland's finest courses. If you want to dig into Scotland's rich history, Balvenie Castle, one of the oldest stone castles in Scotland, is a short drive away, as is Inverness Castle, in the centre of the town overlooking the River Ness. Hang around in town after a trip to the castle for more historic buildings like Inverness Cathedral and the Old High Church. It's also not far to the shops, restaurants, museums, galleries and history of Aberdeen: recommended are the Aberdeen Art Gallery, Aberdeen Maritime Museum, live music in Belmont Street, Provost Ross' House and, if you're around in summer, dropping into some shows at the Aberdeen International Youth Festival.
