What customers say

A grand spot, spotless and handy for the NC500. Grand pitches, decent loos and showers, easy access. Shower costs a bit steep for some, but grand value overall. Peaceful, secure. Mind the traffic din and few bits for longer hols.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Very convenient and easy to find
Good instructions sent before..wide pitches and a 15 mini walk to town.
Toilet and shower clean.

Disliked Would think with only 1 toilet and shower that it could become busy in high season.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Great campsite, golspie lovely. The loos are new and you need £1 coins to operate the shower …so bring some! Got stuck in the shower for a bit as the lock was tricky, so take your phone in with you so you can call for assistance!

Over priced for what I would describe as a pull in pull out facility.

Non-electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Convenient

Disliked Having to pay for showers that were inadequate. Not enough showers for the amount of pitches. Next to main road, road noise throughout the night.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Easy to find, ideal quiet spot for our onward journey to John O Groats. First time in a motorhome and water and waste easy accessible as was the electrics.

Disliked Not a reflection of the owners but arrive early, we walked into town about 8.30pm once we had got ourselves organised on site and all food places were closed. Purchased food at the CO-OP and made use of the facilities in the motorhome. So not a total disaster but after a long day driving we didn’t want to cook.

Local attractions

Longing to shoot off to a loch or two? There are a couple close by the site, including Loch Fleet (10 minutes’ drive). The nature reserve is a pretty good patch to walk along the pinewood trails or scout out if there are any seals or otters about, while at Loch Brora (20 minutes), waterside walks or cycles might be your course of action. Brora (10 minutes) is the name of the next village over – and much like Golspie, you won’t have a hard time finding things to fill your time. Sandcastle sculpting on the beach perhaps, or a go on the village golf course just behind the shore? Then, back to Golspie for the Dunrobin Castle & Gardens (five minutes), where you could catch a falconry display, or otherwise head on a tour of some of the 189 rooms? In Balblair Forest (35 minutes), there are more mountain biking trails for those of you on an adrenaline hunt. As for those of you who are intent on seeing sights you won’t catch elsewhere in the UK, you might want to call by Cairn Liath (five minutes) to see a broch that's unique to Scotland, as these old fortifications don’t exist elsewhere.
