  • Luxury pods with hot tubs at a rural Clackmannanshire farm
  • Two golf courses within 10 minutes' drive; 25 minutes to Stirling
  • Kitchen, shower room and garden area with barbecue for each pod
Come along to the Clackmannanshire countryside and get set for lovely views, a range of outdoor activities and a good dose of luxury at Devonknowes Lodges. These stylish pods are part of a rural farm a mile from the village of Coalsnaughton and they’ve got gorgeous views up towards the Ochil Hills. Those views serve as something of a taster of what you can expect in this area – lots of lovely hikes (including woodland walks just around the farm), cycling and mountain bike trails and several scenic golf courses. Castles and other historic buildings are nearby too, as are days out in places like Stirling and Falkirk. Wear yourselves out as much as you like on your outings, safe in the knowledge that a cosy place to stay awaits back at the farm. Each pod has been stylishly decorated and kitted out with a comfy double bed and sofa bed, a shower room, underfloor heating and a Smart TV. Towels and bed linen are provided to make life easy, and the kitchen is supplied with all sorts of handy things to help you sort meals and drinks – these include a kettle, a coffee machine and a Ninja air fryer oven. If it’s a fine day, you may like to take those drinks and meals out into your private garden area, which has seating and a barbecue table for a bit of alfresco cookery. Out here is also a real highlight: the chance to soak in your own private hot tub while soaking up the scenery and fresh air. A farm shop/bistro is about 10 minutes’ walk away for foodie supplies and meals out, and there are more places to eat and shop about five minutes’ drive away in Tillicoultry. Please note that this site is accessed via a farm track, so drive slowly on your approach.

Local attractions

There are plenty of options around for outdoor activities, including walking routes and cycle trails, and there are two golf courses and a dry ski slope within 10 minutes’ drive. If you’re bringing sports kit along, the folk on site can store it securely for you. For a change of scenery, there are urban attractions nearby – head to Falkirk (half an hour’s drive) to see the Falkirk Wheel, to Stirling (25 minutes) for the castle and National Wallace Monument, or Dunfermline to visit Dunfermline Abbey Church & Palace and wander through Pittencrieff Park. Stopping by at the huge artwork The Kelpies (25 minutes) en route to Linlithgow Palace (half an hour) is another great idea. Family days out might include Blair Drummond Safari Park (half an hour) or Argaty Red Kites (35 minutes); if you’re on a grownup trip, perhaps spend some time sampling the wares of Stirling Distillery (25 minutes) or Deanston Distillery (half an hour).

Melloch camping pod (hot tub)

Liked: Our family stayed a few nights to have a peaceful wee break and it was exactly what we got. Peace and quiet with beautiful views , can’t put into words the beauty of what you wake up to each morning Trails and family animals on your door step, the horses were so friendly they came right up to you and let you rub these noses , great nature and well looked after. The views them self were worth the stay in my opinion, but all the extras. Tea and coffee and hot chocolate , oat biscuits and cookies. The little extra touches of many toilet paper a first add box , hair dryer , torch , take away menus and local attractions. We had bbq and every for it included , also the tv Netflix , bbc and Disney we could watch it all if we wanted. The glamping pods them self were immaculate, brand news and not a mark on anything, lovely decorated and extremely clean , definitely luxurious glamping , same with the garden area and hot tube , decking and seating outside. The swings and play area right on sight you don’t need to worry about the kids Bats and balls and football goals too so so much for the kids to do while we enjoyed the views! Will definitely be coming back again !!!!

Craighorn camping pod (hot tub)

Liked: Immaculately clean and fresh inside the pod. Very comfy bed and couch. Smart TV with all the apps was a great touch, as was the coffee machine and pods. We were in the pod at the front (Craighorn) with spectacular views of the Ochils (and a lovely horse) from the hot tub. There are great walks around about. Gartmorn Dam is within walking distance and there's a public path down to the main road between Dollar and Tillicoutry too. Great value for a hot tub stay in the area.
