Are you already exploring or soon to arrive in Waterford? Take a look at Crotty’s Lake Camping – a handsome spot indeed, and one that will surely act as an excellent base for exploring Copper Coast beaches, cycling through the countryside and hiking green slopes overlooking lakes. Secure and private, Crotty’s Lake Camping has direct access to Crotty’s Lake (no swimming permitted), a spectacular lake surrounded by tall hills. The owner is on hand to meet guests and answer any questions you may have, or give advice on local things to do. And the surrounding area certainly has an impressive line-up of attractions. Within 15 minutes’ drive of the site is the Waterford Greenway, a 46-kilometre cycling trail on a former railway line, passing over three viaducts and the river Suir before ending at the Copper Coast. The endpoint for the Waterford Greenway is the harbour town of Dungarvan, otherwise 25 minutes’ drive away from the site. Several Copper Coast beaches are also within half an hour’s drive of the site. Facilities on site are well maintained – the communal area includes a toilet, a 'wild' (off-grid) shower and cooking facilities. The nearest shop is 10 minutes’ drive away if you need to source ingredients for your meals.

  • The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.
  • Guests must bring their own duvets, pillows, sheets and towels when staying in rental accommodation. You will not be allowed to stay if you do not bring these items.
  • There are no bins onsite: all rubbish will need to be taken home with you.
  • Please note that the toilet facilities are unisex.

Liked We loved Crotty’s lake… if you like a cross between wild camping and a few home comforts this is the place!!
Lovely helpful staff, a small honesty shop, use of gas bbq’s, tables and chairs and kitchen bits to borrow if you’ve forgotten everything!!
Although no shower the toilet facilities are 1st rate, better than some of the huge caravan sites we’ve stayed at.
This is not a flat site and we camped on either side of the track and needed our ramps to the top but it has stunning views and is super quiet!!

Liked Had an amazing weekend’s stay at Crotty’s lake camping, the hosts were lovely, helpful and relaxed. amenities were great and you couldn’t ask for better views. The kids really enjoyed the forest and it was fantastic having a walk and lake onsite! fantastic site

Liked We loved the place. It was amazing adventure in natural breath taking views of mountains and of course the lake(after hike 😉. Bernard and his family are very welcoming and very kind.
It is great place, ppl could set up their tents all over the hills and close to office. It is great land to choose a place, the views are very good whereever you put your tent you will have either all or some of the hill views, mountains, forest, or little ferry rivers views.
We had amazing family time.

It is located in very good place close to some many attractions such as Dungarvan, Mahon hills, and my fav absolutely great beach the stradbally cove beach ⛱️

Liked Environnement en pleine nature, dépaysant. Espace mis à disposition grand pour y installer notre tente et notre voiture. Nous passions une nuit dans ce camping. Toilettes disponibles et coin cuisine à l'arrivée où vous attend un café ou un thé ! Vous pouvez brancher vos appareils électriques, mettre vos courses au frais et prendre quelques jeux de société pour jouer ensemble et les redéposer ensuite !

Disliked Douche extérieur fraiche, espace en bors de rivière sans sécurité avec un enfant en bas âge.
