  • Family-run campsite nestled in the Comeragh Mountains
  • A 10-minute drive from Clonmel and surrounded by walking paths
  • Kitchen and a thatched wine bar serving food and homemade soda bread
The campsite is part of a 60 acre sheep farm that keeps us busy through the year. With the town of Clonmel 6 miles away there is ample opportunity for shopping, dining and drinking. On site we also have a campers kitchen, showers, toilets and a laundry room. In the evening time we encourage campers to relax by the peat-fire in the thatched barn where they can soak up the atmosphere of a good sing-song or a simple chat between fellow travellers.

Liked: This is a rustic remote place that has so much to offer from the scenic walks to the friendly atmosphere and welcome that we met on arrival … if your looking for 5 star then keep on going your not getting that here .. What you are getting is a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere… The parking is spacious and clean tents vans and caravans all share this space and no one is out of place . Facilities are basic but clean with kitchen equipment microwave wash area . Showers and toilets were clean and worked bar one … At night or day you can sit in a gorgeous seating area where the chat was endless cards were played or just sit quietly and listen to the music played on the system .. From Christy Moore to Andre Boccelli .. all catered for .. What makes it special is the walk up the hill on the Comeragh mountains and yes this is a hill but at the top is the stunning views of Clonmel and as far as the eye can see …stunning.. Kevin the dog makes his friendly acquaintance with all ..

Disliked: None for what we were looking for

Liked: Charming lovely hosts with a warm welcome and always willing to help with tips for exploring the area. Good sized level pitches, wonderful walking and mountain biking accessible from the campsite. We especially loved the little bar/lounge with its friendly atmosphere.

Disliked: Only slight niggle - the washroom block was kept nice and clean and the showers were lovely and warm but the showers could really have done with some hooks on the walls/door to hang clothes as there was nowhere to put your things while showering.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: We liked the charm and natural feel of the place. The absolute peace and quiet. The sense of being part of nature. We liked the friendly, helpful staff. Bins and water taps nearby each pitch.

Disliked: Part of the charm is the hands-off, haphazard, casual feel of the place. Unfortunately that goes hand in hand with a toilet block that was less than ideal - toilets that need more than ten minutes to refill after a flush, two broken showers, and one of the remaining two that runs out of hot water after several uses, running out of paper in the toilets, etc. At least one of the hard stands was too muddy to use - and the gravel and wood planks that had been thrown down, were not making any difference. WiFi could only be picked up on the side of the field nearest the office. All in all, despite (or maybe even because of) the negatives, we loved the place, and would be happy to go back.
