What customers say
Scenery's grand, the countryside's grand, and the walks are top-notch. Plenty of space for your pitch and handy facilities. Toilets and showers usually clean with hot water aplenty. Great for families, with stuff to do and near the Causeway Coast for a look-around. A bit of upkeep needed and the odd midge, mind.

From the manager: Thanks for your review
It is important to us that the toilets etc are kept clean so we apologise that they were not up to our usual standard during your stay.
Every pitch has drinking water and grey water drain, this can be on the opposite side to left handed vehicles depending on the orientation. The chemical disposal points are indeed basic compared to some sites- but it's a waste disposal point and it does what it needs to...
We live and work on the farm and we are only a phonecall away when we're not in the yard. There is no reception instead we have self check in and signage. The alternative is to have a short check in timeframe, this way is more flexible for everyone.
I'm not sure if you mean the lane or pitch is difficult for larger vehicles but we have had all shapes and sizes of campervans/lorries/tractors here for many years, though some pitches are tighter for large axel vehicles
The farm is 6 miles from Ballycastle and we do not have wifi, that is stated on our listing so it is unfortunate it negatively impacted your review. I am glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet of this rural area and wish you a pleasant onward journey
Fortunately, we were only passing through!
Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Clean, secure, flat pitch, well marked out as we came in late.
Disliked Satnav was unable to find the site, which is normal apparently! We were told to dump the satnav.
There was a continuous banging door throughout the night.
Couldn’t use laundry facilities as it was not coin operated and we weren’t stopping long enough to sort out during the day.

Google maps has our correct location and we are signposted, postcodes and gps are out of our hands though and we do advise people not to rely on them on many roads around here as they are narrow and unsuitable for caravans or large vehicles!
We can turn on the laundry timers but i understand that arriving late/leaving early that isn't always convenient, installing coin operated machines is not cost effective for a small site like ours, but there are public laundry machines in nearby Ballycastle for next time
The door banging is unusual, perhaps another camper? I will double check our yard doors are secure
Safe onward travels

Excellent site, friendly staff. Landscape requires some restoration
Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Spacious pitch. Everyone was respectful of each other. Clean facilities.
Disliked The power supply tripped out a few times. We were only charging 2 phones, but I suspect it was being overloaded by others.
The walks are quite nice, however the land could be managed in a more nature frienfly way. The river walk area has remnants of ancient woodland but is being degraded by sheep grazing and sitka spruce self seeding. The sitka restocking on the blanket bog was sad to see. Overall the landscape would benefit from nature friendly restoration.

The neighbouring forest is owned and managed by the forestry service as a commercial forestry since around the 1950s, it is quite green now compared to the year they felled the trees beside us! On our own farmland we have loads of features managed for nature which are not necessarily obvious to everyone but are an important mosaic of habitats, we spent a large part of winter this year planting hundreds of meters of hedges 😅 our red squirrel numbers are building and we are in a constant battle to keep sheep and wild deer out of places they shouldn't be!
Glad you had a nice stay here
What-a-top Farm! Friendly folk and pretty, peaceful pitches!

Liked We received a very cordial welcome from Pauline and Patrick, who were in the middle of doing several tasks (it's very much a working farm!), but still found time to tell us where facilities and amenities are located.
There are a couple of walking trails (longest is about 5 miles, takes you up to The Vanishing Lake), which are well marked and supported via the Komoot app, which you can load from a QR code on site. There are also a few biking trails shown as well.
We loved seeing "Big Dan's Viewing Chair" and can understand why he fell in love with this location when he decided to buy it all those years ago. The panorama from there is fabulous!
There are also a couple of shorter walking trails for younger families to the Waterfall or around the lake and by the river.
What we loved most of all, was the variety of birdlife in the trees! It's lovely to wake up to birdsong, and you soon learn to go to bed early so you can fully appreciate it.
There are two distinct toilet facilities; one lot is just "loos", the others are next door with some showers.
It's an ideal place from which to visit Glen Arm gardens, Ballycastle, and even the Giant's Causeway, and Bushmills.
We visited in late-April (still quiet), and were kindly offered the choice of River view or Lake view; we chose the latter which had grass pitches (so we could put our awning up).
We are unlikely to pass this way again, but if we do, we will try to book it.
