What customers say

Idyllic spot with stunning views and plenty of room. River access for fishing and kayaking is a big plus. Facilities are top-notch, with a well-equipped kitchen. Relaxed pitching and plenty of fire pits are loved by guests. Some minor grumbles about fishing access, toilet doors, and shower temps. A few thought it a bit dear, with activities off-site.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked The site was beautiful, with farm animals all around and a really back to nature feel! The amenities were also fabulous with flushing toilets and a kitchen with all you may need! Me and my partner went paddle boarding at the partner site and it was so much fun!

Disliked The showers were cold water which we didn't realise when booking.

Liked Pretty site, easy access and plenty of space to pitch, site was clean and tidy

River access is fantastic to have

Disliked Toilets and showers very dark and no hot water for showers or washing up

No where to change ice blocks, you will need to take an electric car cool box

People not adhering to no noise after 10pm, I had neighbours talking loudly until 2am

Liked I loved that there was no strict rules it was extremely laid back and lovely views.

Disliked A little overgrown around the river so didn’t have easy access but the site manager was clearing it while we was there so can’t really complain.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked We loved:
Space, peacefulness, views, being next to a river, plum tree!! Price, clean bathrooms, ability to have fire pit. Glorious views! Ability to fish and kayak !

Disliked Place would benefit from :
Being open for longer - not only till end of August as we would love to visit in Septmber!
A bit more space for fishing;)
Not owners fault - but we have mobile with Three and not best signal

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Was reluctant to write this review because I wanted this little gem to be hidden! But it definitely deserves to be enjoyed by many! Shocked at how amazing the Amenities are! All the little extras, boxes of games and toys, to shower gel, coffee and tea in the little kitchen, pots and pans to borrow and everything and anything you might forget! The owner came to say hello he was a lovely man. They have created a little haven off the grid in complete nature! And the river is just an added bonus! We went as a couple and 4 teenagers we all loved it. The hammocks the sun loungers, the little wooden seats! I love that fact you can just pitch anywhere and it’s not strict and regimented. It’s just the way camping should be. We will be back time and time again our new favourite place.

Disliked Absolutely nothing to dislike. But if you don’t like off grid it’s not the place for you

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Peaceful setting

Disliked We booked the site for 3 nights but stayed for only 1. We choose the site due to all the activities it advertised. There were 2 pegs for launching or fishing, both were not kept with overgrown weeds and nettles. You would absolutely NOT go swimming in the river, (green). It advertises archery but that's at the sister site 4 miles away.

Now let's talk about the facilities, toilet doors don't lock, one sink, 2 maybe 3 showers all cold . There is a fridge.

As an avid camper who enjoys fishing and kayaking this was in my opinion a steep price of £83 compared to elsewhere where said activities can take place.

This is an overpriced shack, and a site I definitely won't be returning too.

Local attractions

The level of adventure your break has is totally up to you – you might like to go for something big, like caving or climbing at Cheddar Gorge (25 minutes’ drive) or plan a series of mini adventures, like a leisurely day of paddleboarding, a sunset walk or a dip in Clevedon Marine Lake (half an hour). Burnham-on-Sea (15 minutes) is another great coastal spot, with a sandy beach, a pier and a couple of nearby nature reserves (plus fish and chips, of course). For city strolls, take a trip to Wells (25 minutes), England’s smallest city, or head off to Bath (an hour), to wander among the famed honey-coloured historic buildings. Glastonbury (20 minutes) is also worth a visit, with lots of unusal shops, an abbey and the chance to climb Glastonbury Tor. Other days out might take you to the nature-filled Avalon Marshes Centre (10 minutes), to Wookey Hole (half an hour), or to Longleat (an hour) for an exotic safari experience.
