Top field electric grass pitch

Liked: Clean pitches, clean toilets and lovely hot showers! Staff friendly and approachable and security on-site made everyone feel looked after. Photo opportunity beach and swimming pools (out doors) are spotless and life guards on duty all day. No over flowing bins or litter and everything was well maintained.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Went with 2 nine year old girls. Has great facilities and entertainment. Swimming pools are great and the bowling was good fun. Checking in was easy and so was finding the pitch which was a generous size and easy video instructions on how to reset the breaker box via a QR code . Lovely walks around the site - hills, shingle beach, fields, rivers and of course the sea. Was really gorgeous location with wifi that reaches the pitch. Very dog friendly, including club house and restaurant with some places to tie up if needs be outside the shop. The outside pools has an area for people with dogs (as not allowed to go on the grass by the pool), but there is only one bench to sit at, so suggest you take own chair or you can hire deck chairs for £5 a day. It also has a good van for ice cream, nachos and drinks. Possibly more but I didn't spot a menu. There was a fish and chip van that came in the evening (sat, though not sure if it comes every night) but can also have takeaway pizza. The girls had great fun and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Will def be going again.

Disliked: The arcade is very small with the worst grabbers I've seen (literally). The 2p machines have got really poor prizes.....for the first time ever, my daughter did not play on them as not worth it. Secondly, I didn't appreciate the Male cleaner coming into the ladies shower room with no announcement. Have no issue with him doing his job but a heads up he was coming in would of been nice as hes in plain clothes, so not obvious he's staff.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff. The site itself is lovely, with plenty to keep younger children occupied. The private beach is stunning when you have the weather. Great signal for TV/internet too which was vital with a teen!

Disliked: Showers were very spacious but the toilet/shower block were not the cleanest, though by no means filthy or unusable. I'd say if you're looking for a relaxing getaway, this isn't the place as there are a lot of younger children up at the crack of dawn LOL

Liked: Pitches were a good size and flat. Facilities always clean no matter what time of day with plenty of hot water. Plenty of walks for the 2 dogs on site. Close proximity to South West coastal path. Easy walk to West Bay along the beach. Well stocked shop on site.

Disliked: Having to vacate our pitch by 10 o clock

Top field electric grass pitch

Liked: Tent pitches were a good size, facilities were clean and had everything you needed. Swimming pools were great with indoor and outdoor options. Beach is lovely. Whole site is very well looked after and nearly all areas are dog friendly which is a big plus as a dog owner. Security walking around the site all day and at night making sure everything is in order and you are following the rules. We had a very loud family opposite us but it was a relief knowing security would tell them to quieten down at 11.30pm and our little one would be able to sleep after that.

Disliked: Strange complaint but the hot taps in the bathrooms are FAR too hot, as an adult I couldn’t even wash my hands in it so children have no chance, mixer taps would be much better. The restaurant on site is less than average and is the only part of the site that needs improving. Shame the water features and slide were not turned on when we went swimming (16.30) so our little one missed out on that.

Local attractions

Nearby West Bay (25 minutes' walk), and Weymouth (35 minutes' drive) a little along the coast to the south-east, are well-known watersports havens for surfers, sailors and windsurfers. Afterwards, dry off at one of the towns’ well-known restaurants or carry on exploring elsewhere… The market town of Bridport (five minutes) is an attractive spot for painters, actors and their ilk, as it has a funded arts centre with year-round events, exhibitions and films. The centuries-old street market in town is also pretty colourful; go here on Wednesdays and Saturdays to buy fresh produce, clothes, plants, paintings, books and antiques. If you’re on the Jurassic Coast to fossil hunt, go on to Lyme Regis (20 minutes), home of the annual fossil festival and the award-winning Lyme Regis Museum. Book a fossil walk to get free entry to the fossil finds and exhibitions of the museum afterwards. Dorset has a mammoth amount of other stuff to do for kids too, including the SEA LIFE Centre Weymouth (35 minutes), Axe Valley Wildlife Park (25 minutes) and six daily talks at Wareham’s award-winning Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre (45 minutes). Abbotsbury Swannery (15 minutes), the only managed colony of nesting mute swans in the world, also has an acclaimed children’s farm with guinea pigs, ponies, undercover play area, tractor rides and lamb racing daily at midday.
