Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Before arrival the owners gave us directions which was great, then when we arrived we found that we had brought the tent that we borrowed from my daughter but she had forgotten to give us the tent poles 🙈 then we attended the toilets and we met the owner Stacey and we explained to her what had happened and asked where we could buy a tent from, she told us she had a tent that we could borrow which was amazing and so helpful, we found the campsite very clean and tidy with beautiful views, we are a family that has never camped before and we found this place and the owners extremely helpful, thankyou so much us and our Girls had a great time!

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked We had the best bank holiday weekend, the facilities are simple, but well kept and very clean. We loved the welcome from the owners, and especially loved the space, the greenery, it's lovely and quiet, and the views are also incredible. Loads to do a short drive away, i recommend the butterfly and otter sanctuary, and Dartmoor is a short drive away for wonderful walks.

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Elevated site with great views. Huge open space. Pitch size fantastic. Pitches along a tree line which gives a natrual shelter from wind. The best bit, a site with desirable types of people. No loud music, simply some people in a field setting up camp and enjoying their space. Very refreshing pitching up in a large open field, but with the luxury of a hot shower, electric hook up, and place to do the dishes. Loved it

Disliked Could. perhaps do with an extra toilet or shower. Mornings a little busy. Otherwise I loved the experience, and ultimately, it wasn't the end of the world

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked This was a lovely little campsite. Easy access to the beautiful beaches and nearby Dartmouth. Owner came over to check we were ok but we were left to our own devices. There was water access right by our tent and the toilet blocks were some of the cleanest I've seen.

Disliked There is a nearby dog kennel which at times was noisy but this wasn't a regular occurrence.

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Lovely location, level pitches, good water & electric access. Very friendly owner, clean and homely amenities with ample paper, soap and towels provided. Easily found, clear directions provided, safely fenced for small children & pets. Good cellphone coverage, no wifi (which is a plus to me, but opinions vary there.). Would come again, but will check weather forecast as location means it can get a little windy.

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked A great place to explore the South Hams with beaches and towns to explore. We had a message from Martin and Stacey the night before with our pitch number so we could go straight to our pitch on arrival. They also gave us directions which are slightly different to Sat Nav/ Google Maps and it is a much better road to use. Stacey came around and checked we had found everything we needed. The toilets and showers were clean, tidy and well stocked with loo roll and hand wash. Recycling bins clearly labelled and taps for drinking water along the fence. We had an electric pitch along the top edge of the site so had views of the sea in the distance. Good phone/ internet reception. A very peaceful place to stay even with families with young children staying there was enough space for them to play football and run around without disturbing others. The electric hook up pitches were fairly level and lots of space between other units. The grass was nice and short and had been cleared after it was cut so no dead grass coming into the tent.

Local attractions

Make your way over the clifftops by following the South West Coast Path (15 minutes’ drive) and plan in plenty of pitstops for Cornish cream teas as you pass by the towns. There are plenty of coastal locations that will break up any hike or coastal drive with watersports or boat trips, such as Blackpool Sands (15 minutes) or Dartmouth (20 minutes). While you’re in Dartmouth, you’ll get to tick off Dartmouth Castle. Walk in the footsteps of former soldiers and Victorian workers as you explore the battery passageways and the gun tower. But where else must you tick off your Devon bucket list? Paignton (half an hour) has beaches, a pier, a geopark and the Paignton Zoo Environmental Park (half an hour). Dartmoor National Park (20 minutes) has gorgeous landscapes and hikes galore, of course, including the Dartmoor Way heritage trail. Then, there’s the family-friendly theme park at Woodlands Leisure Park (10 minutes) or the National Trust’s Overbeck's (half an hour), which was once the home of inventor Otto Overbeck, left to visit too - and they're both well worth the visit.
