Diving into Dartmoor National Park for cycling-ready trails or hikes in the craggy tors? Elvan Farm Campsite will open the doors nicely, as this wild camping site belongs to a traditional family-run farm in the hills of the national park with some dazzling sunsets, scenery and plenty of space to find a peaceful spot to settle in and unwind. Once you’re all set up, you’ll want to weigh up your options. Will it be a hike up into the hills directly from the site? Wild swimming in Shilley Pool, just five minutes’ walk away? Perhaps a casual stroll into one of the local villages to call into one of the traditional country pubs? Onto one of the cycling trails within 15 minutes' drive of the site? The local village has just the spot, five minutes’ drive away, as there’s a café, pub and shop with the essentials, including fresh fruit and veg. For somewhere a little bigger and buzzier, Okehampton has shops and supermarkets 15 minutes’ drive away where you'll be able to source more specific food items. On site, you're welcome to set up a small firepit or barbecue. In the way of other facilities, you’ll also have access to toilets.

A tranquil Dartmoor spot for nature lovers, with generous pitches & clean facilities. Hayley's a star! Perfect for walkers & wild swimmers. Track's a bit wild & loos can get full, but it's a peaceful retreat. Some find it *too* quiet, mind.

Liked Lovely location and hosts, very quiet even tho it was close to the road, the site was well organised with all the facilities one needs. The hosts come every day to check everything is ok and if one needs anything, and supplied us with amazing organic eggs and lush brownies 😋
Amazing trails close by.

Liked Peaceful. Space to plot without being too close. Water on site, shower etc. Elvan Farm is my cup of tea. Reckon I’ll be back soon. Also, the host was very communicated and helpful.

Liked Wonderful peaceful spot, could hear nothing except the sheep at night. Portaloos were clean and shower was hot. Easy to find if you use what3words. Super if you're looking for just a basic campsite.

Liked Everything, has everything you would want there. It’s easy to get too and the check-in message was really appreciated! The location is great and not to far from A30. I walked to the Northmoor Arms which was a great walk with a good pint at the end. I was I’ll be back and I only live 30mins away!
