Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked: Great stop off to Cornwall just off the M5. Nice Sunday lunch at pub close by. Excellent self serve entry clear system

Disliked: 2 post codes on information, make sure you use the correct one as we used the campsite address by mistake and ended up on small country lanes. Once we realised and put in the correct postcode it was great £5 a night for electric seems steep

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked: Good location just off M5 and easy access with very good size of pitch

Disliked: Basic facilities. Toilet facilities need upgrading and some lighting would be a great improvement.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked: High elevation, flat pitch very close to the hook up, large open field, clean facilities and easy instructions to access the site. Very close to Steamers cafe if you fancy a lazy breakfast.

Disliked: Some road noise.

Local attractions

Sometimes you just need a quick stopover – but it’s certainly worth sticking around at Herons Bank for a little longer if you can. For starters, it’s close to several places to entertain the kids – including the excellent Diggerland Devon (five minutes’ drive), Yarak Birds of Prey (10 minutes) and Devon Railway Centre (20 minutes). Kids (and grownups) are also likely to like beach days in Sidmouth or Budleigh Salterton (both about 35 minutes) or a stroll around Exeter (25 minutes), perhaps including a tour of the underground passages and a visit to the cathedral (where family events and activities are available throughout the year). For a more grown-up day out, you may prefer a tour of the stately home and gardens at Knightshayes Court (20 minutes) or a hike through Exmoor National Park (40 minutes) before a tour and tipple at Wellhayes Vineyard (25 minutes).
