Liked: The park is so lovely, it is beautifully well kept and the views are stunning. There are so many nice touches that the kids loved, including the willow mazes and the amphitheatre. The cafe sells really lovely and healthy food and we loved the open barn bar area. The park felt really quiet and peaceful. We have a 2 & 5 year old and the walk down to Porthtowan was completely manageable, although they are small paths through heathland so not buggy friendly if you'd need that. We've been to Porthtowan camping for years and only just discovered this campsite, which we are gutted about as we wished we had stayed sooner but we will definitely be back!

Liked: Beautiful site with access on foot to the beach. Great location.
Disliked: Lots of dogs not on leads so found a few dog poo’s, obviously not great with young children running around. One dog even came into our van and stole some food! Showers are awful, dirty, poor drainage so water spilled everywhere and often no hot water at all making it difficult to wash kids hair etc

Liked: Nice large pitches, the numbered ones for campers have some great views but we would've been equally happy in the free range wild camping half of the site. Very cool site to wander around. The summer markets were happening the Sunday morning, music event the Saturday night which we thought might be disruptive but you could hardly hear it from our pitch right behind the amphitheater. Didn't speak to anyone from the park itself during our stay - but there were a few things going on over the weekend which would have taken their time . We liked that they trust you to just find your pitch, enjoy your stay and leave again (some sites the management seem to want to check up on you constantly). Would recommend and we would stay again.

Beacon shepherd's hut (four person)
Liked: Fantastic location with view of the sea and lots of rabbits and birds. We were in the Beacon hut which had a lovely space around it - fire pit and picnic table and was well laid out. Great location for the coast path.
Disliked: Remember to bring a torch!

Liked: Very relaxed. Like being able to park wherever, loved the hubbub of the wedding going on too.
Disliked: Almost too relaxed! We didn't see a single member of staff the entire stay! Which was fine for us but just from the campsite's point of view, we could have literally just rocked up and stayed three days and not paid. Also, shower very temperamental.

Liked: The view from the campsite was beautiful. Everything else was awful.
Disliked: In thirty years of camping this site has some of the worst managed facilities I’ve ever seen. The compost toilet, a brilliant idea - poorly executed. For a start the sawdust was kept outside so you had to finish your business and then go and get the sawdust to throw down the hole. Many people clearly didn’t bother. Also the sawdust was unuseable as it was stored outside and had clumped together in to one hard mass. The toilets in the shower block weren’t much better. The other people on the site who were also using the toilets seemed unfamiliar with the concept of getting their waste into the hole (as opposed to all over the seat) and unable to locate the flush. If you want to catch Ebola, these toilets are for you. I’ve seen nicer facilities in a Comic Relief appeal. I did my washing up one morning and heard a scream from the shower. A lady with a hair full of shampoo asked me if I wouldn’t mind not running the hot tap while she rinsed. I’m just glad I wasn’t the one in the shower. The campers next door to us had both had dogs, both off lead. We came back to our pitch one day and found muddy paw prints all over our camping chairs inside our awning. The rules on this site are more like “vague suggestions”. Such a shame as this site is in a beautiful location and has bags of potential. The campsite manager was very helpful and used his land rover to tow us out of the mud and off our pitch.

Liked: I needed this stay to get away from it all and this did not disappoint. Just me and my dog. Clean, quiet and simple. Fabulous to sit and read and a great base for some exploration. I loved it and will be back for more.
