Hit the Cornish coast for days of surfing, sailing and seaside strolls, then unwind at Wheal Busy Holidays, a family-friendly site in the countryside, about 10 minutes’ walk from the little village of Chacewater and 15 minutes from Porthtowan beach.
The A30 passes not far from this central spot, so it’s easy to get out for all sorts of activities, whether you head to the north coast’s surf beaches, to sailing spots on the south coast, to tour various National Trust properties or to visit famed landmarks like the Eden Project and St Michael’s Mount.
And then when you get back, you’ll be able to relax with some time outdoors, with plenty of space, hedgerows and wildflowers around the site, plus views towards the Wheal Busy tin mine to give you a classic Cornish backdrop.
For food and other supplies, it’s a 10-minute walk to the village centre for some small independent shops, a pub and a takeaway. More extensive shopping facilities can be found in Redruth (10 minutes’ drive) or Truro (15 minutes).

- The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.
