  • Family-friendly site with great views of Cornwall's Atlantic coast
  • Only 15 minutes' walk from Tintagel Castle and Merlin's Cave
  • Direct access to the South West Coast Path; play area on site
Sitting in a pretty spot on Cornwall's stunning Atlantic Coast, The Headland Caravan and Camping Park is a family-friendly site on the outskirts of Tintagel. This place has a mix of great facilities, stunning sea views and easy pedestrian access to both the village and the South West Coast Path, all of which are sure to entice travellers looking for outdoor family breaks in Cornwall. The Headland Caravan and Camping Park has plenty of amenities to make your stay here comfy, including well-maintained toilets and showers for ladies and gents, chemical disposal points, a washing-up room, a play area and a reception. Dogs are welcome to join you on stays here, and it's worth noting that there's a special pup shower to keep your four-legged friends clean and fresh (even if they've been splashing around in the sea). Walk out of the gate and you can amble down to the beach in a matter of mere minutes, or head into the village instead to make the most of its range of shops, pubs, restaurants and other attractions. Sites associated with the legendary King Arthur, including Tintagel Castle and Merlin's Cave, can be reached within a 15-minute walk.

Local attractions

Staying in this part of Cornwall could involve a visit to nearby Boscastle (15 minutes' drive), home to a historic harbour, a great fish and chip shop, a farm shop selling local produce and the pretty Pentargon Waterfall. Driving a few miles in the other direction will take you right to the centre of Port Isaac (25 minutes), a small and typically Cornish fishing village that's well known for its fresh seafood. Further afield in Cornwall, you could call in at the Eden Project (50 minutes), hike across the wilds of Bodmin Moor (half an hour), wander around surfers' paradise in Newquay (an hour) or see the south coast of the county at coastal villages like Looe or Polperro (both about an hour and 10 minutes). One of the great things about Tintagel is that, while in Cornwall, it's also within easy driving distance of top Devon day trips. These include the seaside resort of Bude (30 minutes) with its several different beaches, Tamar Lakes Activity Centre (45 minutes) for kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding or fishing and the historic village of Clovelly (an hour).

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Views, and local village

Disliked: Greeted with piece of paper, with all the do and not to do instructions, shower blocked not cleaned for 2 days and covered in grass, have come to this site for over 20 years and the old owner retired and now is owned by someone else, it has lost its charm and friendliness, grass was regularly cut so it never got in the state it was as you took it back into caravan. It is being made in to a site full of lodges ,so no more a campsite ,so probably affect tintagel who rely on the trade
