Liked: Friendly greeting. Very quiet and peaceful.
Disliked: Quite limited facilities and in the middle of nowhere. It's probably best for people with tents and cars so you can drive to visit the local area. Some light pollution at night.

From the manager: Thank you Rachel for your review I am glad you found our site peaceful and quite only 20 minutes from Plymouth . I am confused as to what the light pollution is perhaps the lights over the toilets as most love it for the lack of light pollution..Thank you for coming to stay

Liked: De ligging van het terrein. Afgelegen, stil, rustig gebied. Vriendelijke uitbaters.
Disliked: Het terrein lag niet echt vlak. Het was moeilijk om een plekje te vinden waar we de camper min of meer waterpas konden parkeren. De douches en toiletten zijn erg basic, maar wel proper.

Liked: It’s such a peaceful, lovely campsite. The showers were warm and clean and the toilets were clean with toilet roll and soap provided. The owner was lovely and gave us some recommendations for what to do in the local area. We all loved our stay and will definitely be returning.

Liked: This was a perfect semi-wild campsite, very basic toilet and shower facility. I loved the fact we had the place virtually to ourselves, only 1other couple who camped on the other side of the field to us. Perfect location for exploring the Tamar valley, plymouth, and the Rame peninsula and east cornwall. The owners are lovely and very welcoming, my children loved their sheepdog! Would recommend to anyone looking for a low key campsite.
Disliked: Nothing however it is basic in amenities, a rustic shower (hot water is available!) So it wont suit everyone.

Liked: Nothing!!!!!
Disliked: The site was far more remote than we envisaged - the least of our concerns. There was only one working toilet on site and one cold water tap installed in that toilet. This was housed in a makeshift shed. In that toilet there was a brush for cleaning purposes which dripped smelly brown ooze as soon as it was removed from its holder. There was no lighting in this toilet. There were two showers housed in another makeshift shed; one had no lighting the other had a dim light surrounding the switch which was at the door -remote from the shower itself. This shower took several minutes to access as the door was stuck. The door on the other shower had obviously been co-opted from some other use as it had a bolt on the outside. The water temperature was not hot enough to be called tepid - neither on arrival or the following morning. There were no washing up facilities anywhere on site. We booked this site for 3 nights and the website stated that there was only one or two places available. When we arrived and when we left the following morning we were the only people on site. We requested the return of our money for the following two nights but this was refused. Our complaints were dismissed and she said we were the first people to complain. She also said that the website had nothing to do with her and everything to do with Pitchup. We would point out that the fee for this site is £20.00 per night without hook up. This is extortionate and would be the fee for a top class site with good facilities - many of which you are responsible for and we have stayed at. She also said that she had not had any money from Pitchup for our booking, if this is the case we feel that the £40.00 for the two nights that we didn't stay there be refunded. This experience was a severe blight on our holiday. If you require photographic evidence we have it.

From the manager: Wow thank you so much Mr Hubbard for giving us a 2 we did not expect that when you came storming to my door demanding your money back because of the location of our site ,when I refused you said If I don’t get my money back I will write the worst review I can about your site I must say we are very happy with a 2 we were expecting a big fat zero… I understand from Mrs Hubbard that you thought you had booked a campsite 🏕 on the beautiful 🤩 Dartmoor but unfortunately you booked our site in the heart of the tamar valley in a ANOB (area of outstanding natural beauty) just a few minutes from the beautiful Halton quay .unfortunately for you your sat nav didn’t work very well and it sent you on a jolly around the lovely Cornish lanes if you had followed a good old fashioned map you would have found that we are about 2 miles from the main A388 and perhaps even looked at one before you made your booking you would have known you were in Cornwall not Dartmoor Devon unfortunately I can’t be held accountable for your mistake It’s very clear on pitch up site that we are within easy reach of Dartmoor (35 minutes approx) and 15 minutes from Saltash . We are a pop up campsite which allows us 28 day’s camping each year and all we have to legally supply is water and as you pointed out we have 2 toilets ( not compost as in many pop up sites) and as you quite rightly pointed one is out of order and as we are now closed until next year we have not fixed it as most campers bring their own portaloo We have 2 new showers this year which my husband made this year from recycled material and yes the doors don’t match but both work very well and we have had a lots of lovely comments about them . Fully agree that the showers are tepid but that is 💯 our fault as in the hot weather by request we turned them down to the lowest summer setting and forgot to turn up but as one camper said “ they are amazing we didn’t expect to have them” £20 is for 1 large pitch and up to 6 people and that is the price that many sites ask and pitch up suggested We are sorry that you didn’t stay to enjoy the beautiful tamar valley just a stones throw from the splendid National trust property of Cotehele but I suggest in future that you check your location before booking as this review is all about your mistake in location and us not been on Dartmoor as you thought, we sadly can not be held accountable for your mistake and as it clearly states on pitch up no refund within 7 days of arrival I am sure you have read our reviews and they are mostly 10 1 bad review is not going to worry us especially when it was not our fault we are grateful for a 2 you gave us when you stood at my door shouting About how bad a review you would write if I did not refund your money I was sure it was going to be a big fat zero .
