  • Sheltered family-friendly site powered by sustainable solar energy
  • Countryside setting, 10 minutes’ drive from Newquay's beaches
  • Modern facilities including a heated outdoor pool, shop and playground
Heading to Newquay to plunge with your surfboard into the foaming waves on world-famous surfing beaches, explore the stunning coastline and sample Cornish pasties? Step forward Treloy Touring Park, an award-winning site in the Cornish countryside and just 10 minutes’ drive from the surfing town of Newquay and its excellent beaches and coastline. Despite its proximity to Newquay, this spot is tucked away from the crowds, and it caters exclusively to families and couples looking for an outdoor break with a touch of luxury (and a heated outdoor pool). Holidaymakers will stay on generously sized pitches with access to facilities such as individual washrooms, an accessible shower room, parent and baby rooms and family bathrooms. There's also a high-speed wifi service so you can keep up with the world around you. The café/takeaway cooks delicious locally sourced food and there’s a shop that’s handy for essentials, camping items or fresh coffees, croissants and Cornish pasties. Kids can be entertained at the play area, which has a zipwire, swings, slides and an accessible basket swing, or you can take them wildlife spotting at the nature reserve's pond or the woodland trail. The family-friendly bar (which had an upgrade for the 2024 summer season) is the place to be in the evenings during the school holidays, when you can join in with bingo nights and pub quizzes. The bar has indoor seating as well as a terrace with a pergola, so there should be plenty of space to meet friends or hang out with the family. The sheltered location, only four miles from Newquay, makes this an excellent base for exploring stunning beaches, coastal paths, villages and Cornwall’s top attractions. Plus, the nearby Treloy golf course – with a driving range, nine-hole course, golf shop with club hire and a licensed clubhouse – is 15 minutes’ walk up the road and has concessionary prices for the site’s guests.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: We have recently stayed at Treyloy and had a lovely time. The park was very clean and tidy. The staff were so lovely and the facilities were great. Our little one loved the park and we enjoyed out walk in the nature reserve. If we had stayed longer we would have used more of the facilities. 100% recommend to friends and family!! We would definitely stay here again. 5 stars for everything

Disliked: Nothing. We enjoyed our stay

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Everything The staff are all really friendly and the facilities WOW, simply the best I’ve ever had on a campsite. The individual cubicles including shower, toilet, sink and hand dryer are the best. The pool is like being in a spa and the bar area is so welcoming. The shop cooking fresh pastries and pasties is a brilliant idea and delicious. The breakfast sandwiches from the cafe are delicious and filling. The pitches are a good size meaning you can still have privacy even when next to other campers.

Disliked: We were only there for 4 nights, wish we had booked for longer.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Really clean and well organised. The facilities were of a high standard, the shower facilities were better than some hotels we’ve stayed in. The children loved the play area and the owl visit. As a family we enjoyed the evenings at the bar playing bingo. The outdoor heated pool was also really clean and well kept. A Dog friendly site with a good exercise field.

Disliked: Check out time of 10am was a little early for us.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Just en route from a wonderful 3 nights here. The staff were ALL so friendly and accommodating. The pitch was a great size and fairly private too (due to the hedges separating the pitches.) The facilities are great, pool and bar lovely, toilets and showers are best I’ve ever seen at camping, appreciated the dog exercise area (impressed by the solar farm!) The kids loved the park and the we felt safe allowing them to play there without us. The site is in a perfect location to go to Newquay or other gems such as Padstow.

Disliked: There was nothing we “disliked”. But if we had to feedback it would be the toilet roll holders sometimes ineffective and no fresh produce in the shop. Would also be great if kids could hire bikes or scooters but again didn’t take away from the experience.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Everything. We have traveled all around Europe in our Motorhome this summer, and we have all agreed that Treloy was our favourite site. We were meant to be there for 7 nights and ended up staying for 9, I would have stayed even longer if I could. Amazing facilities, the kids loved it. Very clean and staff very friendly.

Disliked: You do have to pay for Wi-Fi, it is £10 per device which is a bit expensive, but we had no trouble with it, the signal was strong and worked for everything we needed it too.

Local attractions

Treloy is in a first-class location whether your interests are coast- or countryside-based, with fishing, golfing, cycling and main attractions like the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan all within easy reach. One or more of the 11 beaches in and around Newquay will be most holidaymakers’ first stop. Family beaches such as Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay are a few minutes’ drive from Treloy: both Mawgan and Watergate are lifeguarded in the summer and Watergate has safe swimming areas for kids. On land, Newquay and its surroundings have plenty going on too: try Trenance Gardens, part of Trenance Leisure Park and with more than enough to tire the kids out with a boating lake, crazy golf, play areas, nature trails, a maze, the flumes and pools of Waterworld and one of the miniature trains, the Little Western Railway, of the Lappa Valley Steam Railway. Award-winning DairyLand Farm World and the Blue Reef Aquarium should hold the attention of even the most fidgety youngster, but if not, Crealy Great Adventure Park is less than half an hour away at Wadebridge, and Flambards Theme Park 25 miles away in Helston. Kids thoroughly tired out? Onto more grownup activities such as an evening at Newquay’s theatre or four-screen cinema, or angle for some fishing: coarse fishing at Porth Reservoir, a mile from Treloy, or a half/full day sea fishing trip from Newquay harbour. The South West Coast Path runs behind Watergate Bay – hike from here to Mawgan Porth or the 10 miles to Porthcothan – and for two-wheelers, the Padstow to Wadebridge leg of the Camel Trail is an easy traffic-free 5 mile cycle. You might even want to – ssh – take the kids along on that one…
