  • Small Cornwall campsite with sea views on the outskirts of Seaton
  • South West Coast Path and Seaton Beach both 20 minutes’ walk
  • Wildlife haven with a covered camp kitchen and freezer-block exchange
Easy-going vibe and a Cornwall beach nearby? You’ll be wanting Penhale Camping, a small, family-run campsite on the outskirts of Seaton, with spectacular views over Rame Head and to Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. The handful of grass pitches are spread through two fairly level paddocks and have lots of space for guests to spread out and chill. No-frills amenities cover a small toilet block with a hot shower and two toilets (one for each sex). The indoor camp kitchen has two washing-up sinks, kettles, a fridge and a freezer with free freezer blocks to exchange. This is a very natural site, so please don’t expect gravel roads and manicured pitches. Wildflowers and weeds are welcomed, and as a consequence you should get to see a great variety of wildlife about the place; rabbits are very common and if you are up early, you may see deer wandering across the fields. Newts, toads and – if you are very quiet and lucky – lizards put in an occasional appearance too. Well-behaved dogs are permitted by arrangement, but they must be on leads at all times. You can exercise them on the bridleway down to Seaton Beach (20 minutes’ walk), or take longer strolls along the South West Coast Path, about the same distance from the site; overnighting hikers are also welcome to pitch up here too.

Electric optional grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Penhale Campsite delivered an absolutely awesome week-long stay for our group, and we would happily go back in a heartbeat. From start to finish, everything about the site made our holiday smooth, relaxing, and thoroughly enjoyable.

The facilities were top-notch—impeccably clean and genuinely well-appointed. Having access to spotlessly maintained showers and washing-up areas made a huge difference for a larger group over seven days, and the shared fridge and freezer was an absolute lifesaver for keeping food and drinks fresh.

The location itself is simply wonderful. Being able to take a peaceful walk straight down to the beach along the bridleway close to the campsite added so much magic to our days. To top it all off, the owners were so lovely, incredibly welcoming, and keen to help in any way they could. If you are looking for a fantastic seaside getaway, Penhale is a total gem!

Disliked There is nothing to dislike.

Electric optional grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked The campsite is located in a stunning location with superb views. The pitches are very well spaced with lots of privacy. Not crowded .

The facilities are very good and very clean with separate facilities for men and women. With hot shower. There is also a separate room with sinks for washing up and a fridge freezer and plug sockets to charge your devices.

The owners who run the campsite are amazing and exceptionally welcoming and friendly! Nothing was never too much trouble they checked to see how we were doing regularly and made our stay even more enjoyable!

There are plenty of walks you can do from the campsite including ones down to the local beaches

I would definitely recommend this campsite

Disliked There was nothing l disliked about the place and the campsite it was all just perfect!
