Carn Meor Farm is a quiet farm site set over a spacious 2.5-acre field in Cornwall. The farm is in an elevated position just outside the hamlet of Black Rock, with extensive views over the local landscape – on clear days, it's possible to see as far as 10 miles away, including the county's spectacular northern and southern coastlines.
This site is well-suited for families and couples looking for quiet breaks on a working farm, surrounded by nothing but grassy fields and inquisitive sheep. The local area is a scenic one and is full of footpaths and bike trails. There’s also a good deal of industrial heritage – this part of Cornwall is famed for its mining history, and the Poldark Mine is an easy 10-minute drive from base. For the nearest beach, head to Porthleven (15 minutes) or Praa Sands (20 minutes).
In terms of facilities, Carn Meor Farm is equipped with toilets, a water tap, picnic benches and firepits. Owners Matt and Louise live in the farmhouse on site and are happy to help you charge up phones or to supply you with local produce to cook up on a barbecue or to take home.
The nearest pub and takeaway are located in Praze-an-Beeble, a mile and a half from site. For supermarkets, head to Helston (15 minutes' drive) or Camborne (15 minutes).
