What customers say

Lovely for families. Staff are grand, facilities spotless & great for seeing Cornwall. Kids adore the play areas & sandpit. Pitches are decent, though a few spots can be snug or sloped. Mostly good, some thought facilities a bit old or noise now & then. Shop & launderette on site.

Electric grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked The pitch was lovely

Disliked The toilets and showers were very dirty and not clean the whole time we stayed there. The tiles had never been cleaned and the floor was full of water all the time. The mens showers were blocked with hair.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re really sorry to hear you felt our facilities didn’t meet your expectations during your stay. Cleanliness is very important to us – our toilets and showers are cleaned at least twice a day, and we regularly clear the shower filters, though sand and hair can sometimes build up quickly in the busy summer months.
We’ll certainly take your comments on board as we’re always looking for ways to improve. We want all our guests to feel comfortable and welcome, and we do hope you might give us another chance in the future.

Non-electric grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked We only stayed one night but we loved this site. Really easy to find, just off the A30, close to the beach and Hayle town. Great location, very friendly family run site. Felt very safe and my two boys could come and go as they liked from the park and sand pit in the middle. Facilities were lovely and clean even during peak times. We will definitely visit again!

Disliked Nothing!

Electric grass pitch

Liked Nice campsite, easy to check in with friendly staff, toilets and showers were clean

Disliked Probably needs more showers for when it’s full in the summer months as we were only there for two nights and had to wait a bit. Takes about 45 minutes to walk into Hayle and there isn’t a lot there, but managed to get a bus into St Ives which has so much to do.

Local attractions

National Trust - Godrevy (10 minutes’ drive) includes a rugged stretch of coast where you might admire daredevil surfers riding large waves. If there’s no action in the water, you can explore the clifftop paths, take in the views and see birds like skylarks and choughs (and the occasional seal). Whether you’re after seaside attractions or a spot of culture, St Ives (20 minutes) delivers. Sandy Porthmeor Beach sits in the shade of Tate St Ives, with its collection of modern art, and only a short walk from the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. The town itself, with its narrow alleyways lined with stone cottages, is also well worth a little exploration. Cross to the south coast to visit St Michael’s Mount (20 minutes), a small island off Marazion Beach that can be reached on foot at low tide. Explore the medieval castle and the subtropical gardens, and take a boat trip back to the mainland.
