paid for the pitch not per tent. the amount of space between the pitches. water tap next to the pitch was a huge plus. Dee and her husband was really friendly and the kids came to see if we needed anything, real family feel.

Lovely campsite - lacking in facilities but this was made clear so we knew what to expect. Warm welcome from hosts and the site was tidy, well managed and well maintained. Good communications and directions pre arrival.

The site is pretty and green. It is very near a lovely pub, which has friendly staff and good food.

There are some nice walks in the area around the campsite, for example the walk to Racton Ruin, which is not very long and there is an alpaca farm within walking distance. Also, Arundel Castle isn't too far, which is a great day out.

We were provided with a slab of concrete to cook on, to protect the grass and steady the cooker, which we found to be very useful. There was also a bucket for putting out any stray sparks, which we were also thankful for, as there were high winds during our stay.

After we had booked, we realised that the "shower facilities" listed on the website consist of a cold water hose in a field. At a glance, it is hard to tell that this is what you are going to get. We have no problem not washing for a few days, but to advertise as having shower facilities is a bit of a push.

Directions to the campsite were not very easy to follow and when we called the owners, lost, there was an automated message saying the phone was off. We didn't know whether or not we could enter through the farm as there were conflicting instructions.

The ground was very uneven in places and really slopes towards the back of the field we stayed in. We heard others complaining about the unevenness of the ground as well.

There is one skip for mixed recycling and non-recyclable waste. We were wondering who would sort through that, so that it could be recycled, as surely it is all contaminated.

The portaloos started to really smell by the day we left and they had run out of toilet paper. The hose for drinking water produced cloudy, sometimes warm water.

Place is very calm, beautiful area to walk around. Pretty big pitches with baskets for water and stones to put under BBQ. Many points with drinkable water.
Owner is very nice and helpful, keep place clean and checking on everything everyday.

There is only one gate to walk out from the campsite but it's locked so everyone have to go through bushes. There could be made small gate.
The other down side is that you have to pay by cash on site.

Lovely location, really friendly and helpful hosts. Simple facilities but you don't need anything more for a short stay and they were very clean. The ground was level which you need for camping and it was lovely being by fishing ponds!

I stayed over the last BH weekend. As it was busy I liked the generous well spaced pitches. I arrived after heavy rain that would have puddled in lots of sites, but the ground there was so good even the car track mud was gone through the Next day. Drains perfectly. Even with lots of others the well thought out layout meant you always felt well spaced. The customer service from Dee is totally off the scale, from the amazing informative welcome email pack, to a pre chat on the phone to discuss my pitch tents needs, to her checks each day for a chat and to check all was ok were spot on. This is definitely a site I will revisit and recommend

It is situated behind a quite quiet industrial area. It didn’t bother me as only a gentle background hum at worst but some might like to know.
