Luxury bell tents, a fairy wishing tree, and ingredients for breakfast delivered right to your door... the team at Ridlington Farm in the South Downs reckons their place makes for a pretty magical stay. Glampers of all ages will have a ball at this stately bell tent site a few miles from the West Sussex village of Petworth, in a woodland setting with spectacular views of the South Downs. Hide out on your own patch if you're here for a secluded time; if not, there's loads to get stuck into from popular scavenger hunts for kids every Saturday afternoon, to investigating the fancy dress rail and lounging about in the communal chillout tent. A glamping activity sheet and competition are also provided for kids, but they may be more interested in a trip to the fairy wishing tree, set on site at the hidden story corner... And for the grownups? They may be mightily interested in the Ridlington Farm Liquid Stardust, a 24k prosecco dusted with rose gold; a glass is supplied gratis to each adult guest on arrival. All bell tents have a proper double bed, luxury linen and outside seating and firepit, as well as a woodfired hot tub (grownups only, please) included in the accommodation price. A communal kitchen and firepit are also on site.

Ridlington Farm is a few miles from the small West Sussex town of Petworth, 15 minutes' drive from Midhurst and 25 from Chichester. City sorts can get to (or from) London from here in about an hour and a half by car or an hour and 25 minutes by train via Midhurst and Victoria. Your green surrounds here are the South Downs National Park, home of the South Downs Way and hundreds of miles of waymarked trails. You can also tackle around 745 miles of bridleways for horse riding, hunt down treasures on a geocaching trip, or roam around at night for stargazing: the park became an International Dark Sky Reserve in 2016. Going coastwards, it's about 40 minutes' drive from the farm to the beaches of Littlehampton, The Witterings or Selsey.
