  • Dog-friendly wild camping site on a South Downs working farm
  • A 15-minute drive from Shoreham-by-Sea; half an hour from Brighton
  • Walking and cycle paths directly accessible from the site
Simply put, Perching Manor Farm Wild Camping is sweet as can be for all those who are keen for a no-frills wild camping getaway in the South Downs National Park. What a spot for wild camping this working farm is, with sublime South Downs views and access to lots of walking or cycling footpaths, no matter if you prefer to travel on foot or on two wheels. One of the farm fields has been transformed into a pop-up site with a limited number of pitches (for that peaceful sort of vibe). They’re suitable for both families and well-behaved dogs, a big plus for those who can’t bear to part with their furry other half. You might be stopping over if you’re hiking or cycling the South Downs Way or you might be basing yourself here for walks, vineyard tours, beach trips and gorgeous Brighton. Either way, the facilities on hand include portable toilets and a cold-water tap. Plus, if a pub is an essential local amenity for you, you should be quite happy to know that there are a few pubs close by: one 10 minutes’ walk away and another two within 10 minutes’ drive of the site.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Very friendly and helpful host! Nice surroundings, quiet!

Disliked: £ 25 too much for facilities: field, one tap and 2 portaloos (no complaints about the facilities, they were as described).
