A slice of the slow life in the Surrey Hills National Landscape – sound good? In a rural spot about 10 minutes’ drive from Dorking, Henfold Lakes is a place that’s all about countryside calm and simple pleasures – think long walks, quiet morning coffees in the open air, evenings chatting under the stars, kids scampering about rather than scrolling… This family- and dog-friendly site is tucked away among peaceful woodlands and open countryside on the edge of the National Landscape, putting you within easy reach of lots of gorgeous scenery and walking trails. For a bit more outdoor activity, there’s a fishing lake on site where guests can cast out a rod or take a walk by the water’s edge… or just pick a quiet spot and do nothing, of course. There’s plenty of space to relax at this site, with roomy pitches where you’re welcome to set up various bits of kit like a gazebo, awning and outdoor table. Simple facilities stretch to just toilets and showers; no unnecessary extras to spoil your peace. You’ll be able to pick up snacks, drinks and picnic supplies at the shops and supermarkets in Dorking, and there are a couple of pubs within a five-minute drive for when you fancy eating out.

Liked Mucho espacio disponible y gente muy amable. Precio asequible para pasar la noche. Las instalaciones estaban cuidadas y las limpiaban a menudo.

Disliked No tuvimos posibilidad de reservar una parcela con electricidad en la web a pesar de que cuando llegamos había varias disponibles. Es todo un gran descampado, sin árboles que resguarden del clima. Solo hay 3 duchas para todo el camping, que son también los lavabos principales. El resto de lavabos son químicos portátiles. El sitio lo proponen en la web como cercano a Londres, pero realmente no es así. Está alejadísimo del transporte público (40 minutos andando por carretera estrecha de doble sentido sin arcén ni iluminación) y el tren tarda más de una hora en llegar a la ciudad desde la estación más cercana (Dorking).

Disliked The track to the site isn’t great, caravan got bounced around. Toilets/showers could do with a good clean. Didn’t appreciate been woke up by work vehicles on site

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Non electric pitches are large and well outlined. Portaloos up in the none electric bit with more “permanent” facilities by the main entrance, all very clean what we used.

Disliked Noisy at night, non electric pitches on a slant, sadly had to drive to a different lake as the main lake had nearly dried out and others weren’t “putting out”

Liked Showers, toilets, location and staff were great.

Disliked Only one fishing lake was in use and has been overfished. Wouldnt stop us returning, luck of the day!
Campfire would have taken the cold evening edge off.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Very nice place with really friendly people. We only stayed for one night, but we absolutely loved it. There was a group of people who seemed to stay there quite often, and they were so welcoming and friendly. We felt really comfortable and genuinely like part of the camping family. We would definitely love to come back!
