  • Dog-friendly Hampshire site on the grounds of the Beaulieu Estate
  • A 15-minute drive from Lymington and New Forest Wildlife Park
  • Discounted entry to the National Motor Museum and other sites
On the grounds of the Beaulieu Estate, you’ll be signing up for a royally scenic stay at Beaulieu Pop-up Campsite, a pop-up site in the New Forest National Park. With forest cycling and walking trails close by, you’ll be able to get your adventure on from here while also being right by the National Motor Museum and a short walk away from other heritage attractions. This is quite the refined stay, as the site belongs to an estate that was once a royal hunting ground. There are pop-up facilities here, including toilet and shower blocks and a washing-up area. During your stay, you’ll be able to take advantage of discounted entry to several attractions within walking distance of the site, including the National Motor Museum, the adventure play area at Little Beaulieu, Beaulieu Abbey, Palace House (a Victorian country house), the Secret Army Exhibition (to learn how agents were trained) and the World of Top Gear (a collection of used cars from the TV show). The village has things sorted for food too, as there are a couple of pubs that you’ll be able to reach on foot and a village shop where you can get the basics in. And if you’re looking for somewhere along the sea or the estuary, Lymington and Hythe Marina Village are both around 15 minutes’ drive away.

Local attractions

The Georgian market town of Lymington (15 minutes’ drive) is a renowned yachting centre. Take a stroll along the pretty quay, then head to Lymington Sea Water Swimming Baths, where you can have a swim, paddleboard or bounce on the inflatable adventure course. If you fancy spending a day on the Isle of Wight, you can board ferries departing from Lymington Pier. Meet otters, bison and wolves, plus owls of all sorts, at New Forest Wildlife Park (15 minutes). The kids might enjoy taking part in feeding sessions, where they can quiz the keepers on the animals’ habits, before getting going on the adventure course, with climbing ropes, spider nets and a log jumble. No matter what you’re into, you’re likely to find something that appeals at Lepe Country Park (20 minutes), stretching along the Solent. Here you can walk on coastal trails, sit patiently in a bird hide overlooking the area’s marshes or go for a swim. There’s also something for the history buff of the family, with remains of military structures used in preparation for the D-Day landings and a memorial.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Clean facilities, both shower and toilet well maintained. Clearly marked pitches which are overly spacious for our one two man tent and 3 bikes . Very friendly welcome and telephone call received in advance as we were a little later arriving. Charging was available on request as we were electric free. Reduced entry to the motor museum was an added bonus.

Disliked: Only 1 washing up sink, not too much of an issue for us as our cooking was minimal but other resorted washing in the plentiful hands sinks, which were probably a hangover from covid times.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: We actually didn’t stay in the end as the winds were too high and we had a large tent. We spoke to a lovely lady at the site before we travelled who we so helpful and I wanted to feedback on her friendly manner and superb service.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Toilets were clean and showers were powerful. Nice size pitches

Disliked: There were lovely edge spaces where we could have had some shade and been closer to the woods.

The deep excavation was scary while protecting the little ones.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: The new forest

Disliked: Site said BBQs ok but failed to so gas only. We were a group of families with kids from 3 to 13 and friends. Everyone had bought charcoal bbqs and meat to cook on them.
I wanted to get an electrical hook up. I was told repeatedly in my emails I was no allowed one on a tent pitch. I said fine although a shame. I was happy to.pay for it.
However, when we arrived, my space was next to a hook up with a lot of available channel's. Highly irritating as I had a cool box with food and teens with phones we could have charged. I could have saved the meat we couldn't cook on the bbqs with my electric cool box right??
No WiFi. All Internet very poor. Could not call my older son at home or send WhatsApp.
I had emailed way ahead and say we were a group of families and maybe we could be on one end away from the middle. The kids could play and any noise would be to one end or the side.
They put us in the middle and then repeatedly got annoyed at us.
Life would be easy with sense of putting a group at one end. Letting them pay for the hook up NEXT to them that was free and making sure the site says ONLY GAS BBQs so it is clear from the get go.
The lights or the water failed here and there on the toilet blocks.
No information on reception at all on reception about the area.
We had a great holiday. But the site was a restrictive one more suitable for older people with large vans over families and friends in tents . We felt restricted and were told off repeatedly. We are not scallywags or chavs by the way.

Disliked: We were a large party group in the middle of everyone. We got told off a lot. Maybe keep large groups away from others.
Sorry about the noise though.
