What customers say
Lovely woodland spot, really peaceful, owner's a gem. Campfires welcome, pick your own pitch. Basic but grand facilities, upgrades coming. Watch out for queues for loos and showers when it's busy though.

A great option for basic camping near the New Forest.
Non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked Freedom to pitch anywhere, woodland setting, great price, car free (you can drop your gear near the camping area then move your car). Basic facilities but pretty clean. Just the one shower but just pick your time. Very friendly owner.
Its a working farm so expect some associated noise from time to time and maybe pitch nearer the lake if you want even more peace and quiet.
An over 21 years old site.

Lovely peaceful no frills woodland campsite.
Electric forest floor tent pitch (woodland)
Liked Lovely peaceful woodland setting, choose your own pitch, not too busy. Clean toilets, friendly and helpful camp owner and fellow campers when my electric pump wouldn't pump up my air tent.
Disliked Toilet and shower block quite small with three unisex toilets and one shower for the whole site, but they were kept clean and stocked with toilet roll. I only stayed two nights so decided to shower at home afterwards.
Electric hook up hard to connect to if you're camping in a tent in the woodland area, you have to be able to reach the electric boxes on the other side of the shrubs and trees, but I managed it.

Nice tidy site friendly staff. Pitches were fairly level
Electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked Can’t say there was nothing to dislike easy check in choose where you would like to pitch we did go for near the farm end as our motorhome is long and parked length way to the hedge.
Disliked The down side if you can call it that is the shower and toilet block was awaiting repair/upgrade and we were told of that at booking but didn’t affect us they were still perfectly useable.
I’ve given a good solid 9.5 purely because of the shower block

Friendly owner, a site with potential but overpriced in current state.
Electric forest floor tent pitch (woodland)
Liked Friendly owner.
Adults only.
Disliked For the facilities provided and in its current state, I feel this is overpriced in comparison to other campsites that I have stayed in, in the new forest area.
No allocated pitches - there was enough room but if paying for electric, ensure you bring a long enough cable, 10 metres is probably not enough.
3 toilets and 1 shower - I understand that an application has gone into improve this.
Vehicles had to be parked away from your pitch - appreciate that this was mentioned in info.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked The owner was friendly upon arrival. Sadly
we struggled to find anything else.
Disliked We were aware that we booked to stay on a working farm but the smell of manure was the strongest I'd ever smelt.
We were told we could only park on the grass area to the right as it was only tents that could pitch in the woodland and not vans which was fine.
We found a space to park and went for a walk around the site. We first went to the small toilet block which the owner said, "it's on its last legs" and she was not wrong. In my opinion, it was not fit for purpose. My husband and I are used to camping and have seen some sites that are in need of updating but this was something else. We took one look at the toilets and very quickly knew we could not stay there.
There were 3 toilets and 1 shower for the whole site. We knew in advance they would be unisex and the site said they were in need of modernising but these were dirty, unhygienic and not fit for purpose. My husband saw exposed wires in the shower too.
We didn't stay long enough to take any pictures.
We then had a short walk around the grounds and saw plastic water bottles filled with urine. It was very soon after that we informed the owner that we would not be staying.
We looked on line for a site nearby and for few pounds more we found a site 20 mins away called Folly farm and there was no comparison. It was a pristine site with immaculate facilities and we had a lovely stay.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. we appreciate any constructive feedback and sorry you did not enjoy your stay but found somewhere more to your taste.
I do have to mention a couple of things in our defence.... The smell of manure isn't actually coming from us. We believe it is a smell of sewage and are trying to find it's source but it definitely is not coming from us had you mentioned this I could have explained.
The bottles filled with urine still have not been found so I would have loved for you to have taken me to them to be delt with.
It is well documented and advertised that we do not allow vehicles within the woodland area and the pitch was a grass pitch not a woodland one so I am unsure why this was a surprise to yourselves.
And the toilets were certainly not unhygienic if they had been I would have been down immediately to clean them. I don't deny they are tired, need replacing and the flooring is stained however the sinks and toilets are clean and cleaned on a regular basis along with the shower on your departure you stated that the facilities were not to an acceptable standard and when I enquired what specifically was your issue with the facilities (so I could try and rectify them) you stated that that the shower was too close to the toilet cubicles and wasn't suitable for a unisex block. I enquired if you had seen the door on the shower and you responded with I didn't look that far. This tells me that you didn't actually look in the facilities and just popped your head round the door as if you would had looked properly you would have seen the door and the clean toilets and hand basin and not just the stained floor and the toilet to shower proximity.
