Electric grass pitch

Liked: All grass pitches came with hook up site not huge so was easy to get water, and go to shower block. Very clean and maintained convenient for new forest and surrounding Southampton attractions.

Disliked: Slight noise from main road M3 but it becomes white noise after a while.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Nice quite campsite, people at reception were very friendly

Disliked: The toilets and showers were not clean, dead spiders and cobwebs everywhere, the Elsam basin was disgusting, didn’t flush, it was basically a toilet bowl in the ground with no cover, you could seen human waste as you walked by . 2 showers for the ladies, my husband stated the men’s toilets and showers were awful too.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: quiet of an evening

Disliked: some electric hookups were broken , the shower drains were blocked so people had to shower in pools of cold water and let all the water run under the door it smelt terrible as drains were blocked then the toilet cubicles one had a broken seat , one was taped off so on the friday there was one toulet to be used in the mens for the whole site , after 20 years of using this site we feel realy let down its so run down it ruined our stay there

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Price and location

Disliked: Shabby site not well maintained at all . Toilets block was old ladies toilets had broken seats no door lock on one cubical . Chemical waste point in very close to track into next camping field it's just a toilet pan sink into concrete you could easily put your foot down it in the dark as not covered. Owners need to visit campsites like the inside park in Blanford to see what camp sites should be like . Could be a great site if maintained .

Local attractions

If your kids are of the right age, you’re definitely going to end up at Paulton’s Park, Home of Peppa Pig World (five minutes’ drive) before too long – it makes a great day out, with all sorts of rides, animal attractions like penguin feeding and themed areas including a dinosaur park (plus the chance to snap pics with the famous pig herself of course…) Beyond that, kids and grownups alike often enjoy days out at New Forest Wildlife Park (10 minutes) and admiring the shiny vehicles at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu (20 minutes). The Solent Sky Museum and SeaCity Museum in Southampton (20 minutes) and the historic cathedral and Magna Carta exhibit in Salisbury (half an hour) are popular too – and of course it’s only a 40-minute drive to Stonehenge too. If you’re focusing on fresh air, you might like to head to Lymington (25 minutes), home to several sailing clubs and a seawater swimming pool, or take a walk along a two-mile sand spit to reach Henry VIII’s Hurst Castle (35 minutes). A stroll around Exbury Gardens (25 minutes) and a ride on the steam railway might also be on the cards.
