Excellent little campsite!
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked It’s a very beautiful place to camp - calm and peaceful! Wildlife comes out at nighttime, there’s an owl that flys near by! The honestly shack is also very helpful if you forget anything at home, it has your essentials / little treats!
Gorgeous, quiet, well-serviced site, highly recommend
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Rustic campsite, long grass with mown paths and pitches. Loads of wildlife, great facilities (toilets, showers, fridge, microwave, drinking water, honesty shop), lovely owners who can't to visit and were around on site to chat to. A few Wendy houses and slides for very little visitors, nature walks and farm animals to visit for older kids. All it was missing was a football pitch ;-)
Disliked Not the fault of the campsite but... Attacked by horse flies in the morning! Take bug spray and citronella, the bites are terrible!

Liked The site was fantastic. We had ample space in our plot and had large space of wild flowers in between the next slot. Was not on top of each other.
Quite and peaceful.
Lovely setting.
Nice touch with the honesty boxes.
Clean facilities
Disliked Only issue was the toilets, but not that they are not looked after! But just the size. I am a pretty large chap and the toilet cubicle was very tight and hard to move in. Plus, it was 30+ degrees and it was like a hot box. (There is notes from sites owners saying new larger are on way. so a very minor negative)

Peacock Pod camping pod (hot tub)
Liked Wonderful stay at Moss Rose campsite. We had 4 pitches and the Peacock pod booked. The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating. The pod was clean and well equipped and the beds were comfortable. The hot tub was lovely and we were shown how to use this on arrival. The toilets and showers were clean and the 'honesty shack' well stocked. Really enjoyed our family get together at Moss Rose.

Liked On arrival we followed the signs to pitch up where ever we liked and the owners will be around to ‘check us in’
First thing first the owners I couldn’t praise more, they were always around checking in, making sure the facilities such as the toilets and showers were clean, they’ll give a walk around the field and just give a friendly wave, even recommend places near by, telling us the back story of the campsite, asking how we slept etc, just generally could tell they genuinely enjoyed their jobs.
There is an honesty shack which has a range from all the essentials to more fire wood, and sheep feed for the sheep near the bell tents which I highly recommend as the sheep are so friendly and came running over to the gate and the kids love love it!
The facilities like the toilet was a little cramped however they are currently undergoing making bigger ones and family friendly which will be fantastic.
Shower is basic ( a little like a swimming pool shower) but hot and does the job so you can’t complain!
The pitches are cut out so it’s nice to know that no one will be close to you and feel like you have your own private place.
There is a little woodland maze just through the sliver gate down the bottom, which kids and dogs will enjoy.
The park on site is some little tikes Wendy house, slide, and see saw, it is for toddlers which did the job but for the eldest who is 9, it would have been nice for something for that sort of age range.
The location is fantastic as it really does feel like you are a billion miles away from society but getting there is so easy. I do wish the stones road didn’t have so many pot holes on but going slow and steady did help avoid it.
There is no signal on site but we very much enjoyed the peaceful side of it. It’s a quiet campsite and definitely one for young kids.
The field itself is a well kept field with wildflowers on, we also stayed when a thunderstorm happened and the field didn’t get boggy and kept up fair well with the classic British weather which is a massive bonus for all weathers!
It’s also a good place to use as a hub for visits to the seasides, the price does reflect the campsite but it’s cheaper to book direct so we will be doing that next time.
Will definitely be returning!
Disliked It wasn’t a problem for us at the time, as we did ask and the owners very kindly gave us the extra time however when busy periods I think the check out should be later, as 10.30am is a struggle to get everything up and packed away with three kids and a dog to feed, dress and get sorted as well as pack and sort everything out, we would have had to set an alarm in the morning to get out on time.
Lovely site lovely hosts.

Non-electric grass campervan pitch
Liked Booked 1 night as a break in journey and couldn't have found a better place. Excellent down to earth folk with genuine care for the environment in everything they do. Total peace and quiet, only the sound of wildlife and birdsong galore, enjoyed the 1 night that much I decided to return the night after for the 2nd. Hat off to the family for brilliant conversations explaining there ethics and values and will definitely be making a pitstop whenever I'm in the area again.
