  • Spacious caravan/motorhome pitches with views over the River Wyre
  • A 20-minute drive to Blackpool; under an hour to the Lake District
  • Village pub 20 minutes' walk away; barbecues permitted on site
Lovely Lancashire countryside… and lambs on site too? Estuary View Caravan Site makes a fabulous place to park your caravan or motorhome for a few days. This spot a mile from the village of Hambleton is a particularly peaceful prospect – the spacious site has just a handful of pitches, all with views out over the River Wyre. It’s a popular stretch of river for speedboats, jetskis and sailing boats so you’ll see a little bit of activity during the day… or maybe you’d like to bring your kit along and join in by launching somewhere nearby? The site is west-facing so you’ll have the benefit of plenty of sunshine all day long (clouds permitting, of course) and often you’ll see stunning sunsets too. Barbecues are permitted, so you’re welcome to get a grill going for an alfresco meal as dusk falls. Please note that there are no on-site toilets and showers. Guests here have access to electricity on each pitch, and there’s also an Elsan point and facilities for grey water, fresh water and rubbish. As this is a remote spot it’s not on the mains sewer network and that means guests are asked not to use any blue liquid that would harm the treatment system – green liquid (which can be bought on site) or no liquid at all please. You may be interested to know that there is a charging point for electric vehicles adjacent to the site. What to do with your days out? Well, you could potter quietly around locally, greeting the pet lambs on site and then strolling up to the village (about 20 minutes’ walk) for the local pub, bakery, butchers and takeaway. Or you could head out for a riverside walk on the Wyre Way, go for a beach day in Blackpool, or head off to explore the Lake District…

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Was exactly as advertised. Pitches were even bigger than I'd ever expect. A lovely quiet retreat.

Disliked: Slightly difficult route in, just read the emailed instructions and follow then and there is no issue. Then again it's a quiet site so its not going to be near a main road.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for mentioning we provide specific directions to our site. As you say, if they are followed there is no issue. Being in such a fantastic spot, we are just off the beaten track.
