Liked: Great location for the lakes and animal park. Clean showers /toilets and there was always showers free. A busy site but nobody was too noisy the time we where there. Park and field for kids to play away from the caravans. Nice to have until 12 to leave as its not a rush. shops not to far away, great fish and chip shop close!
Disliked: Caravans / campers with awnings very close together. You have to leave a £100 deposit for wifi and better tv signal, absolutely understand why as people have taken them away so not a criticism it just didn't suit us personally.

More of a commercial business than Camping Site.

Liked: Ulverston is a lovely little village for you to explore with a lot of walks however you must be prepared to drive around or face a long walk. Showers in main block were good.
Disliked: We found the site was more of a commercial business than a holiday camp site, too busy with staff focusing more on selling caravans to purchasing customers than appreciating customers who are using the site as a holiday destination. Tight pitches which do prevent the ability to fit awning, caravan and car. Previous sites we have been to have allowed us to fit all 3. This is especially noticeable on Odd Numbered Pitches 119-137. Lack of information of car parking is quite poor as you are told to park in front of your caravan however this would block the road for everyone else. This made reversing and parking your caravan quite difficult if there was a car in the way. You must be able to tolerate the customers who have bought their ‘new’ caravan Bardsea as they will no doubt feel they are entitled to the whole campsite to ‘test’ out their prized possession. Meaning that if you have parked your car correctly as described then they will demand you move it as far away as possible so that they have the whole of Ulverston to access their caravan I’d strongly advise Bardsea that for these customers they are moved to a different part of the campsite to ‘test’ their caravan. Left a day early as we were disappointed with the overall standards at Bardsea. Lack of Baby changing facilities in shower blocks were quite difficult as only the 2 in the centre of the site had this facility, if these are in use then it becomes extremely difficult in the main shower block. Even with leaving on Sunday morning we expected that as we had just vanished from site, that Bardsea would try to contact us to figure out why we left. But however we have had nothing. Overall a poor experience unfortunately.

Liked: Shower rooms were spacious and with underfloor heating a pleasure to use!
Disliked: The sales of caravans next to touring pitches is a bit odd but the setting is so well maintained it doesn’t really matter.

Liked: Fabulous and friendly site. The en-suite style bathrooms are the best I’ve seen. Well thought out and a very generous size. Nice pitches and easy walking distance into Ulverston or down to the beach with train and transport connections. Ability to plug TV into Freesat was useful.
Disliked: Tumble dryers need replacement. I spent a lot of money and still couldn’t get my clothes dry.
