Liked: We went to this site with our daughter, son in law and 2 grandchildren, aged 3.5 years and 7 months. We had the site to ourselves and it was fantastic.
Beautiful setting, quite and great amenities. We shall be definitely returning.
Disliked: Our only concern would be that if we visited during a busy period there is only one shower and toilet. Hot water to the dish washing area would be a bonus.

A good site with basic facilities a little overpriced.

Liked: The site was spacious and well kept. The facilities were clean, and as described in the campsite literature.
Disliked: The toilet consisted of a small wooden hut with a flushing toilet in a cubicle and a single electric shower in a cubicle. The lights operated on a timed motion sensor, which shut off while using the toilet or the shower. You need to bring a towel to wave over the cubicle to get the lights on again. Even though the site had few people, it was still necessary to wait for use. More toilets and showers would be a big improvement. There was no heating in the facility and no hot water, only that from the electric shower. Otherwise it was clean, and well presented. There was no dish washing facilities, just a steel table next to the water stand pipe. The water had no drain, so rinsing dishes etc spashed onto the grass. The site, from a facilities perspective, was one step up from wild camping. This would have been no problem if the price was a lot lower. The area was beautiful and peaceful.

Liked: If you are looking for a lovely quiet minimalist spot to pitch a tent then Whitegate Farm will be perfect for you. The toilet /shower block, as many have said was spotless. Drinking water tap close by and a very semi wild feel which was nice. My contact was Alex, who was very welcoming and helpful throughout the entire stay.
Disliked: The only thing that I envisage as being a potential issue is that the toilet and shower was not gender specific, and only one of each. If it was a little busier it could generate a queue, and potentially be a little awkward. That said with the size and nature of the campsite and with the number of campers on the day it was perfectly adequate.

Liked: Absolutely brilliant campsite - spacious, clean and picturesque. We were amazed by how spotless the toilet and shower area was, the tidy bins, the attention to detail and the kind hosts who settled us in beautifully and went on to even lend us a fire pit to ensure we had the full ‘camp fire’ experience for our children. Can confidently recommend Whitegate Farm and hope to return again soon!
