Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: The area was lovely, campsite was level flat and plenty of electric pitches.

Disliked: The toilet block is minging, old dated and stank. chavs in the tents near us (not the fault of the site). And loads of planes and helicopters going over head. We didn't end up staying the full night.

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Located in a beautiful little village with a good view for watching the cricket

Disliked: Location of toilet and shower block too far away from pitch. Ladies access was on the main road! Toilet roll holder was broken and kept falling down and hitting me on my head. No sink or washing up facilities

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked: Quiet friendly site. Cricket practice at the sports club was going on in the background, nice atmosphere, not at all intrusive. Friendly chap let me in and showed me the pitch, informative details given. Facilities not fancy, they are functional and very clean. There is a pot-wash sink in the unisex toilet block. There is also a ladies-only toilet and shower room, showers are very good, hot and powerful. The ‘Emmerdale’ village is a 5 minute walk up the road.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked: The pleasant meet and greet upon arrival with all info explained and shown to pitch. Contact number available on board before security gate. Great to see there is security but it is a padlock and a self propelling barrier that could provide a little heavy to some. We didn’t use the pub as we were travelling in and out from another event but heard from fellow camper that it was good. There was a game of cricket taking place with a good atmosphere and music after which wasn’t played to late but wouldn’t have bothered us if it was. Did not use on site facilities only there two nights. Lovely area to camp but lane to site is one of those tight narrow ones In Places but nothing we’re not used to!

Disliked: Upon our 1st night back after being out for the day there was some one else where we had parked 😕 we were unsure if to park in the next empty space as we didn’t know if that could have been where someone else would be coming back to if they’ve been out for the day. I called to express this and his reply was, Is there no where else to park any problems call him back as he was offsite. Well yes but In all our years of camping we’ve always booked the space/ pitch and never returned to a free for all as we thought this could cause camping tensions between guests if someone was more particular than us and we had parked where they had previously been . Also although we didn’t need a massive size pitch the second space we parked In Was very close to the two either side of us we were ok with it however they may not have been. would like to check out the pub, clean facilities close to what we needed to travel to but would maybe request the same pitch as we probably would be in and out daily and we may have liked to have stayed longer and wouldn’t want to be pitch hoping every night.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked: Welcomed at the gate with codes for the gate and toilets, also contact number if we required any assistance during our stay. Lovely flat pitches with the option of EHU

Disliked: Unfortunately for me I disliked the toilet/shower facilities. The “ladies only” had one toilet and two shower cubicles with no windows for light. This posed a problem as the lights are operated on a sensor which times out as you are showering. It then struggles to pick up any heat/movement, the only way I could get the lights back on (pitch black) was to get out of the shower and unlock the changing room door. Three times this happened during one shower. Personal opinion but I couldn’t tolerate the odour of the mixed shower/toilet block. My husband used them and recommended that I didn’t. It’s a real shame as it’s in a lovely location and the staff are really friendly.

Local attractions

As it's Yorkshire, walks among spectacular scenery are all around: make for the Yorkshire Dales National Park 10 miles away to access many miles of trails, as well traditional villages and old market towns. If you're feeling a tad inactive, tour the park by car; if not, other adrenalised activities including mountain biking, horse riding, caving, gorge scrambling or open-water swimming. For towns and shopping, Otley, Ilkley and Skipton are all nearby: Otley (six miles) is a Walkers Are Welcome town and has a number of walking trails that start and end in the town; Ilkley has a toy museum and walks onto Ilkley Moor to see the Cow and Calf rock formation (nine miles), and Skipton (18 miles) is where you'll find the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway and barge trips on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. Four miles away is the famed village of Saltaire, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with several galleries and exhibitions including works by the artist David Hockney, who grew up in Bradford. There's an 11-day festival in the town every September and the Saltaire Arts Trail arts festival runs every May. The nightlife, shopping, restaurants and museums of Bradford and Leeds are five and 11 miles away.
