What customers say
Cracking site with loads of room, often private, with proper boss views over the Pennines. Owners are sound and helpful, facilities spotless, and it's handy for everything, especially the pub down the road. Proper peaceful and good value, people are keen to come back. A bit of building work and road noise, but mostly grand.

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch
Liked Pitch was a good size and we were given the option of which one we would like. Views are spectacular. Good price and female toilet and shower were clean. Site was peaceful (except from traffic from main road).
Disliked Only slight issue was noise from passing traffic but it wasn’t a big problem as we knew we were by a main road. It still felt lovely and peaceful.

Great little escape
Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch
Liked Plots were large with hedges around for privacy and shelter from the wind. Allowed to bring own bbq/firepit as long as you used their breeze blocks to safeguard the ground (bought our wood at Tesco garage at Consett). Central area for kids to run around. Showers were clean and well maintained. Roadways around the site were well made. Washing up area was sufficient. Could also charge electronic devices for free. Beautiful views. Lovely walk to Derwentside park. Short drive to Allensford Park by the river with a good play area. Friendly host. Pub next door.
Disliked Wish it was on a bus route even though it was on A68. Taxis to and from Consett available.

Liked Nice location, big camping pitch with plenty of room.
