What customers say
Bíodh meas againn ar an láthair thar a bheith iontach seo, siúlóid ghearr ó Chuan Cayton. Moltar an t-úinéir as a gcuid fáilteachais. Cé go bhfuil roinnt fadhbanna le torann agus cuileoga, is áit shábháilte í le haghaidh saoire.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Nice small quiet family dog friendly site camp fire was a good thing the women who runs the site was fantastic very helpful
Disliked Flys but not her fault toilet could be better and it won’t stop us returning

Friendly site in a great location.
Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Small friendly campsite in a rural location.
Shower block looks relatively new, with six clean wet rooms.
Great location, pub & spar shop in less than a 10 min walk. 30 mins walk to the beach in cayton bay, roughly £9 in an uber to Scarborough.
Friendly owner who will do a bacon & egg butty on a morning.
Disliked Some of the positives come with negatives, the size of the site means there isnt much room for kids to run about- so tire them out at the beach! The pub also has a playground so that's an excuse for a pint.
The rural location meant that there were a lot of flies there when we visited, so go prepared with insect repellent.

Liked Everything! It was great. Lovely, quiet site. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Site and facilities were clean.
Didn’t seem to be a fire curfew either:)
Disliked Lots and lots of flies! Recommend bringing some fly spray!

Good host Poor environment FLIES LACK of toilets showers washing
Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Location
For Filey , Scarborough very good minimal travel .
Lots of other places close by too .
Cayton Bay , Hugmanby , Reighton sands .
Disliked Pitch no 4 . On a slope
Directly behind is a pumpkin field behind that a cow field and cow sheds .
Flies
Thousands of them
When the site is at capacity 3 toilets 3 showers is not enough
Dead cow left in field behind 3 days
Parking is an issue
I understand the host is not responsible for flies I just couldn’t stay their again because of them

Great little site. Top host. Would definitely go back!
Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Welcoming and friendly owner! Offered me an upgrade to a cabin with a hot tub when I told her I was worried about the wind and getting my tent pitched.
Nice little site, toilets and showers were cleaned daily and were always well stocked with toilet roll and hand soap.
Perfect location for dog walks, only a few minutes from Cleveland Way and a brilliant farm shop and café next door. Rural location so expect the odd fly or keep your tent shut!
Owner let me park next to my pitch which was really helpful as I only took a little tent!
Very dog friendly!
Disliked Wish I’d have booked a couple more nights!!

Liked Lovely small setting. Clean and well maintained. Owner/manager very helpful with any enquiries. Family site but also very welcoming to solo travellers; felt safe. Only a few minutes walk to get on the Cleveland Way with easy access to Cayton Bay, Scarborough and Filey. Am planning on staying here again.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Great little site. Loved the small family friendly feel and the owner was fantastic. Great communication before we arrived and came round a few times to check we were all OK. Worked hard keeping the facilities clean. Four toilet/shower/sink cubicles which were kept really clean. We'll be back again before the end of the summer to squeeze in another quick camp. Lovely location too.

From the manager: Thankyou for taking the time to reviea my Site.Im delighted you enjoyed the view, location& walk to the beach yes all customers get a friendly welcome too.:)
Im so sorry you found the showerblock dirty its cleaned daily you must have used it inbetween the cleaning cycle.Majority of my customers comment on how clean the facilites are so im surpeised by your comment, the smell was caused by farmers spreading muck & this also caused the flies on that occaission. We try to mitgate this with fly spray, regular&daily cleans, extractor fans in each wc to keep it cool & an outta door to the showerblock to stop flies getting in.We are in open countryside surrounded by beautiful views & amenities & on an hourly bus route walking distance to The Plough Pub
Well maintained site, activities within walking distance, lovely staff
Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The site owner is lovely & very accommodating (even remembered it was our 1st wedding anniversary) and allowed me to use a plug socket for a hairdryer. She works extremely hard to keep the site well maintained.
There is a fantastic farm shop next door, selling a variety of fresh produce aswel as serving both food/drink with lovely staff. You can take your dogs to the outside seating area & they are offered free doggy biscuits. It takes around 20mins to walk to the beach on a mainly traffic free path, the surf shack also has some cold drinks & snacks available. There is a car park at the surf shack for those who would rather drive parking fees are reasonable or you can park roadside for free. If you walk to the left of the site past the farm shop there is a public footpath through another local farm that takes you directly to stunning cliff top views & walks. Its also a short walk to a local pub. We have been to many Camp sites & on 1st glance i thought it was too small but actually, we found it a much nicer experience with a smaller group of campers. We also took our 5 month old puppy so it was perfect for her introduction to camping. All in all, we had a great experience & would definitely visit again.
Disliked Flies - However, being surrounded by working farms its to be expected. Also, be aware that the path that leads from the surf shack to the beach is quite steep, in steeper parts hand rails are available. Once at the bottom you have the choice of stairs or a sand bank to access the beach.
The add was a little confusing as it stated "traffic free path to the beach" so once the path ended we thought was had missed a turn but we did need to walk on slightly to find beach access. Maybe make directions a little clearer as we weren't the only campers who got lost.
