What customers say

A grand spot, quiet and tidy with lovely Esk valley views. Pitches are generous, with water & electric, plus picnic tables. Becky, the owner, is always praised for her warmth. Great for walks, close to pubs and the train. Most found the poor Wi-Fi/signal a bonus for the peace.

Fully-serviced grass and earth touring pitch

Liked Fabulous little site with space for 5 vans. Fully serviced pitches. We were met by the owner who was very knowledgeable about the area. Lovely, clean and well kept site. The village is very quaint with lovely places to walk. The site is next to a road but has very limited traffic

Disliked No phone service for o2 or wifi but didn't spoil our break and wouldn't stop us going again

Fully-serviced grass and earth touring pitch

Liked Ideally located for our trip and lovely and quiet site with private water and electric supply and a picnic bench. Very relaxed feel and nice pub in walking distance

Disliked Quite uneven (not just sloping) and tricky to get level even with chocs. Appreciate there was no toilet facilities but access to chemical waste disposal would be of benefit - we only stayed two nights but ours was full - a further night would have been challenging!

Liked Beautiful, well kept pitch. Near to the railway, waking distant to pubs, bakery and Danby lodge an outdoor and indoor adventure area, well worth a visit 😍

Fully-serviced grass and earth touring pitch

Liked Lovely little site, nice and quiet. You had electric hook up, water & waste on the pitch. Becky was friendly and couldn’t help enough. There is two pubs in walking distance. More than enough space for children to play. We will definitely be returning.

Local attractions

Keen to hike? You’ve come to the right area, as there are lots of trails to choose from – with one of the closest being Danby Beacon (five minutes' drive), a historical spot that also happens to have sweeping views across the moors. Captain Cook's Monument (20 minutes) is another top choice, with fine views from the top of Easby Moor; if you're up for a bit of scrambling, The Wainstones (35 minutes) may be the place for you. If that all sounds a little exhausting, how about a ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway? There are several stations to choose from, but Goathland (half an hour) is particularly popular because of its starring role in the Harry Potter films. Alternatively, take a wander around the ruins of Rievaulx Abbey (40 minutes). Over at the coast, favourite spots include Whitby (25 minutes), for its Gothic abbey, 199 Steps and Captain Cook Museum, and the cute fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay (35 minutes).
