  • Adults-only site on a small farm near Selby in North Yorkshire
  • A 20-minute drive to York museums, and 40 minutes to Castle Howard
  • Units include a TV, a well-equipped kitchen, heating and a garden
Self-catering on a North Yorkshire farm, anyone? Field House Farm between Selby and York is all kitted out in some style and awaiting your arrival. Keen to escape the kids? The small, independently run site is also adults-only, so you can enjoy some peaceful time as a couple. You're welcome to bring your dogs along too… So, what to expect? Each unit at this site has heating, double glazing and a well-equipped kitchen/diner with a seating area and kettle, toaster, microwave, hob and fan-assisted oven. All linen and towels are supplied for the bed. There's also a private bathroom with a large walk-in shower for cleaning off after muddy country walks. The TV should take care of any rainy days. And when the sun appears, outside there’s a grassy garden with seating and a barbecue on the patio (charcoal is for sale on site). Although you could probably quite happily sink onto the sofa and gaze at the views for a couple of days, that would be a shame as there’s so much to see and do from this rural corner of Yorkshire, near the village of Skipwith. Make a start by discovering the local pub, a 45-minute walk away and known for its delicious roast dinners. York is a 20-minute drive away.

Honey camping pod

Liked Honey Pod is beautifully presented, very well equipped, and set in a stunning area! The bed is probably the most comfortable of anywhere I've ever stayed, and it's so quiet at night. Free WiFi, stunning bathroom with excellent water pressure in the shower, very VERY clean, and allowed us to bring our puppy too! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great local walks, and the Drovers Arms pub in the village did the most amazing steak dinner we've had in a long time. The owner's of the Honey Pod were welcoming and lovely, made the entire stay so peaceful and comfortable. Shelves and cupboards fully stocked with everything you could possible want and need. Brilliant!

Disliked Nothing. But, one area of improvement would be to make the Honey Pod garden/path area fully secure to allow people bringing dogs with them to let their dogs off the lead whilst there. The one thing that would have improved our stay would have been to allow our dog comfortably off lead when we were in the accommodation, and not to have had to keep him on his extendable every time we went outside.
