Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked: Beautiful location Large grass area for multiple activity use Fabulous quality beer and very tasty food at the pub. Great pub staff, very friendly. Was a 5 star but the few minor dislikes made it a 4 star
Disliked: Despite asking I could not find the showers. There needs to be a sign at least. Mens toilets need proper ventilation, very 'pongy' at all times. Only one sit down toilet in the mens toilets for the entire site. The elsan point means lifting a drain cover at which point you can see peoples faeces floating by from the toilet block - yak. Come on this definitely needs addressing to something more acceptable

From the manager: did you get the 'welcome' text that clearly says- Showers are located at the cabins in the carpark Room 6? there's a sign on the door & a sign under the light outside(for night time)

Liked: Flat field & barman & locals in pub were really friendly
Disliked: Toilets didn't flush well & found it difficult to lock the doors No bucket at kitchen sink to scrape plates & pots Leak in kitchen sink when water was draining so it splashed over your legs Showers temp unsteady going from cold to boiling & vice versa & you needed pound coins to operate them £1 for 2 mins. WiFi available in the pub not on the site Field is open & used as a dog walk & cut through for locals

Electric grass pitch
Liked: Lovely and quiet , right on the river , nice walk along there , amenities very good and clean Carvery in pub was awesome but needs to be pre booked And also Sunday night quiz
Disliked: Showers were lovely and warm and clean but the payment system is garbage , having to get out to add more money after your time has expired ( 2 mins for a quid if memory serves ) I have no issue paying for showers but it needs some other system in place that works better

From the manager: Martin, the shower can be pre-loaded with £1 coins, you dont have to get out to put another £1 in ! There is a note with instructions on at the meter.

Non-electric grass pitch
Liked: Clean & flat area for pitching tents with lots of room available, clean, working showers & toilets - although the doors didn't always lock. We accessed the food in the pub area - thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the Sunday carvery. Our dogs were very welcome in the pub, we've visited this site lots of times and never been disappointed. The owner is very friendly and approachable, he has a walk around to check the site but he's not 'over your shoulder' like some owners can be, great, friendly staff in the pub. Definitely booking another stay.
Disliked: Unaccompanied young children in the toilets, not always left in a suitable condition.

Electric grass pitch
Liked: The campsite was family-friendly and was suitable for adults with children of all ages (or none). Despite there being numerous families present on site, noise was not an issue and all guests respected the cutting of games and music being played into the evening. The site had enough facilities to ensure a comfortable stay and all close to the pitches (toilet/shower facilities, water tap and washing up facilities). The pub on site was also very welcoming and served fantastic food. The campsite is based next to the Ouse river and this provides a nice scenic walk for those with pets, or anyone just wanting a nice walk for something to do, providing the river level allows. The site is easy to get to by road, being around 10 minutes off the M62 motorway. It is also set in quiet and picturesque countryside making for a peaceful stay. Communication prior to arrival providing all the need-to-know details of what to expect/do when arriving/leaving site was both useful and welcome.
Disliked: Being picky, the toilet facilities were a little dated and grubby - not enough to detract from a good stay however. The children's play area in the corner of the site could also be enlarged to cater for more young people in peak times and is in need of some TLC.

From the manager: thank you for your review, just for info, the toilet block & the kids play area where fully re-painted at Easter & will be done again in September. Its difficult doing any painting when they are constantly in use through the summer.
