  • Family-friendly caravan and camping park in West Norfolk
  • A 25 minute drive to Sandringham Estate, 45 minutes to Ely Cathedral
  • Dog walks direct from grass pitches; plenty of space for kids to play
Longing for some quiet downtime in the Norfolk Fens? Here’s your chance, for 7 Ducks is a peaceful sort of caravan and camping park on the outskirts of the small village of Walpole Highway. Set in 4.5 acres, it’s dotted by wildflower meadows, with frequent wildlife spottings and often spectacular sunsets. Bring the kids, as there’s lots of room for them to run around and play safely. And bring any four-legged chums, too, as there are dog walks straight from the pitches – oh, and don't forget to bring the bikes to cycle quiet (and often flat) country lanes. Firepits are on hand if you’re looking forward to sparking up the barbecue for a bit of alfresco cookery – buy supplies from Wisbech supermarkets (10 minutes’ drive). If that’s all too much hard work, there are several very good foodie pubs within 15 minutes’ drive. Access to the site is easy for vehicles of all sizes, thanks to the 27-foot-wide entrance gate, and shower facilities are available as well.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely quiet setting and beautiful views and sunsets over the fields.
The pitch sites are adequately spaced from each other.
The toilets, showers and kitchen wash-up areas were adequate and clean.
Level pitches.
Prices very reasonable.
Good wifi.

Disliked My morning shower was cold (gas boiler operated showers) and could not get the hot water to work but was actually fine at the time because it was a very hot day.

From the manager: Thank you for your review

Liked Big open grass field for playing with the kids, toilets and shower were very clean.

Disliked Make sure you bring a decent hammer and some industrial machinery to remove your tent pegs, the ground is hard!

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review

after such a long time of baking sun and no rain, the ground does get hard

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked A lovely quiet campsite. Flat field with all amenities. Immaculate and clean. Spoke to the owner and 3 years in the making. Would love to come back.
A little pop up shop just opened so on a hot day and ice cream was enjoyed.

Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Friendly welcome, good basic facilities. I had everything I needed including power pack / phone charging and hot water for washing up. Basic shop on site, village shop a mile away.

We do try to act on all comments as far as we can, the most suggestions in 2023 was for a washing up area with hot water

Flat land, lovely owner, peaceful.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Was a cute site, that was a nice distance away from busy life but still a nice short drive to a supermarket or days out. Ideal place to watch sunsets and chill as not a large site like some places. Showers were clean and warm and nicer than some hotels. Facilities were clean and Donna was a lovely, friendly host.

Disliked The weather, but no control there.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Great sized field where tents and caravans are pitched round the edge to keep the middle free for play area. The toilets and showers are always really clean and the water is hot. Also really impressed with the recycling facilities on site - never seen such care to recycling taken on a site before. Donna and Brian are really friendly too.

Disliked Not the site's fault at all but as there are no trees when the wind does pick up it's very very strong.

From the manager: Thank you for choosing 7 Ducks for your stay and taking the time to leave us a review, we really do appreciate it, wind isnt usually an issue but this year we have had more than our fair share

Local attractions

Big-hitting attractions in this corner of Norfolk include Sandringham Estate (25 minutes’ drive), where you can make like the royals by touring Sandringham House, exploring the lavishly planted gardens and taking afternoon tea in the really-rather-posh café. Norman-era Ely Cathedral (45 minutes) also draws the crowds with its ornate architecture, 19th-century painted ceiling and Stained Glass Museum. To blow away any cobwebs, head for Heacham (35 minutes) for bracing walks on the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path or a potter on the sandy beach. Big-sister resort Hunstanton (40 minutes) is a busier spot, with amusement arcades and fairground rides on the lively promenade. Chances are younger kids will adore an afternoon cuddling ponies and romping on the climbing frames at Church Farm – Stow Bardolph (25 minutes), while the buggy safaris at Watatunga Wildlife Reserve (20 minutes) are also popular for trails leading past water buffalo and all manner of rare deer breeds roaming free on grassland. There are owls and peacocks at Norfolk Lavender – where you can also pick up souvenir plants and tour the extensive gardens – or make for RSPB Snettisham (both 35 minutes) to see avocets and terns paddling on the lagoons.
